Minnesota is not playing well, and they haven't since November. Last weekend was a good boost, but I don't think they'll build on the 3 point weekend much on their trip to Colorado Springs. Goldy Gopher won't like this prediction, but I think CC takes at least 3 from the Gophs this weekend.

Two very disappointing teams. A lot to accomplish for both teams this weekend, and a lot to lose, especially for Minnesota. Split.

FRI - CC 3, Minnesota 2
SAT - Minnesota 4, CC 2

If I remember correctly, Minnesota was picked to be a middle of the pack team before the season started.
Now that March is nearing and the Gophs are in the middle of the pack, nobody can figure out why they are so average.
I'll say they split with CC this weekend.

I predicted them to finish third...
Either way, you're saying this hasn't been a disappointing second half for the Gophers?

Sure, it's been a little rough to watch the last few weeks.
I just figure they overachieved a little early on.
Very young team. (Especially on Def)
They will be fun to watch the next couple of years.

No doubt. With only two seniors graduating, they will be very good next year and beyond.

I wonder why UND is doing so good with such a young class? Face it! We're seeing a trend with Lucia and it's not good. Next year will make or break him. The young kids will be upperclassmen. How bad would it be to be swept by UMD this weekend at Mariucci? If Minnesota cannot get up for this game them they're done and they have NO chance on making the NCAA tourney.

UMD is a good team this year. I would say a split is pretty likely, but only because the Bulldogs are not too great on the big ice.
