Marshall's only section loss this season is to Hibbing early on by 1 goal. After Hibbing lost to Int. Falls, the Hilltoppers winning this game could give them the #1 seed in the section.
The Blue Devils are 13-1 in their last 14 games.

You are right, 2-6. The loss before and after were each by a goal.
Does a Marshall win against Virginia give them the #1 seed because of Hibbing's loss?

Most of the comments on the 7A thread think Marshall won't get any benefit from the Range teams for seeding. Some of them won't even play Marshall. So, it seems unlikely that they would get the #1 seed, even though, it was early in the season and Marshall is playing better of late. They might even get the #4 seed with a win and that would be a crime.

When it comes to seeding, do coaches really work like that or are they generally honest of team talent?

Have not been on the Devils band wagon early in the season,Virginia wins this one on the road 4-1.

to be honest, range coaches have no warm feelings for Marshall

dancing from one section to the other are in favor when it comes to seeding

,not to mention some good range players that were recruited over

Marshall getting the 1 seed is very, very doubtful. Hibbing has one loss in the section, and they have beaten Marshall convincingly. To me, Hibbing still is the 1 seed in 7A. I do, however, think Virginia will get the 1 seed if they beat Marshall and Hibbing. I don't see Marshall or International Falls getting the top seed.
That being said, I think Virginia will come ready to play, knowing what is on the line. Virginia wins a close game.
Virginia 4
Duluth Marshall 3

Marshall can get the 1 seed if they beat Virginia and then Hibbing loses to Virginia but all Hibbing has to do is win and it's there's no matter what the toppers do because they'd both have a loss and hibbing has the tiebreaker. I am going to the Hibbing rapids game and kind of hope this one is cancelled so I can make the trip on a later date.

I'm gonna say all Virginia has to do is win the final 2 games and the 1 seed is a lock for them. They will have 2 section losses (Hibbing and Falls) and so will Hibbing. With Virginia probably getting the benefit of the doubt because of recent wins over both (if they beat hibbing) and common opponent wins over Albert Lea and Grand Rapids, and Hibbing losses to both.

This is the case... Well postponed at least for now. Duluth Schools are closed, so this game is OFF for tonight.

I have to agree, here. Nothing but rain has come down and temps are near 40.
They ruined four good matchups tonight:
East / CEC (Rescheduled for tomorrow)
Virginia / Marshall - GAME IS BACK ON FOR TONIGHT!
Denfeld / Hermantown (Rescheduled for tomorrow)
Proctor / Central
All should have been good games...
EDIT: The Virginia/Marshall game is back on for tonight!
Virginia @ Marshall Hilltoppers

Paul is having an off night from what i hear, not a good game for that. He better start getting hot if marshall has a shot this year.

Virginia 4
Duluth Marshall 3
Final
Virginia came out in the first period and scored 4 times on 12 shots. Paul was pulled after the first, and Max Elstad did a nice job in his place.
Virginia dominated the 1st, as I mentioned, and the other 2 periods were pretty even. I'd give the edge in the 2nd to Marshall. The Toppers took 3 straight penalties in the middle of the 3rd that really killed their chances. Mausolf scored on a nice slap shot from the top of the circles with under a minute left to make it 4-3, but they couldn't get anything else going.
Give credit to Virginia's D- they collectively played a solid, composed game.

Hibbing vs. Virginia will now determine you 7A 1 seed. Should be an outstanding game.
