What happened to duluth east bantam A's. They were amazing at the beggining of the season and now they are dropping easy games tying teams like tartan, and going into overtime with armstrong. Anyone know whats happened?

They had their confidence shaken a little down in Shattuck a couple of weeks ago. They have too many good players and too good of coaching not to be there in the end. We'll have to see how they WBL touney goes for them this weekend.

maybe

Maybe they have "senioritis". They just expect to win and started not working as hard when they were running the table. 3 tough losses on a trip south and they have a wakeup. This team is still one of the best in the state. They will be there when it counts.

I seem to remember that was a busy week for them 14 & 15 yr old kids had to travel south at god knows what time to play 3-4 game swing against the top teams in minn.then head back practice all week to prep for home tourney.that you are expected to win. These young men have alot on their plate,It's tough staying on top.DE will be there in the end they have too good of players & coching not to.

Why is Tartan getting slammed here. Look at scores they seem to play good defense and Goalie must be above average. Both teams have some big players and maybe Tartan just matches up with them.

True Tartan is a pretty good team, but not as good as Duluth East is. Typically this is a game that DE would win, but since there in a slump anything is possible, which gets back to the first post.

They still are very good but they only beat superior 3 to 0 and the refs were really bad.

From what I'm hearing out of Duluth, this team may implode before they even get to the playoffs. I heard the coaches have considered stepping down and a handful of players have already phoned it in. I wouldn't be surprised to see this team not make it out of either the VFW or MH region tournaments.

I think they are overrated. I watched a period of their game vs. Osseo/Maple Grove on Sunday and they did not look like the same team as they did in November.

That would be just fine, it would open the door for other deserving teams to go to State or a Region Tournament.

Oh yes, they are just a terrible team sitting at 38-6-1 record and ranking 1-5 all season long. Teams like that have no shot at VFW State or MAHA State. Looked real average at the White Bear tournament with 6-1 and 5-1 wins. I am not a fan of East but that is one heck of a good hockey team.

They have as good a chance of winning it all as anybody else with the possible exception of Wayzata. I certainly wouldn't bet against them.

Duluth East is not doing well now because they only played their top two lines and now all of those kids are tired and they have to play their 3rd line who hasnt played at all really.

I haven't watched this group since they were Pee Wee's But my experience would say depth. It's easier to compete at the Pee Wee level with 6-10 quality skaters. I have noticed that at the Bantam level you need much more depth.
In my opinion this is why smaller associations struggle at the Bantam level.
