MSHSL - A Teams by Section ?

Teams by Sections :
1A-6, 2A-7, 3A-7, 4A-7, 5A-8, 6A-6, 7A-8, 8A-7
* I have a question as-to why would the MSHSL add Chisago Lakes Area (this year A) to Section 7A , making that section into 8 teams instead of adding them to section 6A who only has 6 Teams. Section 6A is alot closer by location to Chisage Area (aver. miles 80), than to Section 7A (aver. miles 180). I just think it's curious and maybe to the point of ridiculous to the Chisago Lakes Area Players and Parents who have to travel during the Playoffs, and maybe next year for regular season games in their section.
Good Luck to All Girls Hockey Players in the Playoffs !!!

Just another brilliant decision by the MSHSL. Sections are re-alligned next year.

You may want to ask your Athletic Director and possibly he or she will be able to help you or point you to the correct personnel at the MSHSL to ask the question of. Responses here would likely only be guesses.
Good luck to the girls as they enter the final games of the regular season and play-offs.

Talk about sections and who’s in what always gets me fired up. You got 3A which is by far the weakest section in the state of which New Ulm should run away with the section Championship. Then look at 5A which has I think 4 of the top single A teams in the state with Blake, Breck, Mound WTonka and Orono. The section 5 tournament could be a state tournament in its self. Not taking anything away from the girls in 3A as I know they work hard to improve but potentially someone with a losing record will go to state and 3 of the 4 best teams in the state will be watching it from the stands. Life’s not fair.

And Section 4AA has 3 of the top 4 AA schools, and 1AA nobody in the top 20 yada yada. It happens every year, and that's why they call it the State Tournament.

Yep all is not just!
It would be nice if they would allow 2 teams from each section to state that way you could end up with 1st and 2nd place finnishes from the same section, Can you imagine the rivalrys! would make for some good hockey

The Section tournaments make for some GREAT hockey! The Section 4AA last year was better than the state tournament, especiallly if you were a Cretin fan.

I would like to congratulate the Chisago Lakes Area Girls Hockey team with their win over International Falls. Especially to the Parents and Fans who endured the 270 mile roadtrip in wintery conditions. Just think if you were a Pheasant Hunter you could have driven to Sioux Falls, South Dakota or Cedar Rapids, Iowa instead.
Good Luck to All the remaining Section Teams. " Gotta Love the MSHSL "
