So who does everyone think is going to win this?

I have to say Shattuck too much offensive firepower. Then again Meyers did beat them almost single handedly last year so who knows.

This article: http://www.startribune.com/sports/preps ... page=1&c=y says Meyers has been out due a broken finger. Any idea when he's supposed to return?

Shattuck, Haula and Fallstrom will prove too much for Benilde to handle.

Rematch of last years game, where bsm won 2-1, i believe patterson and borer scored last year.

Shattuck is a powerhouse and definitly the favorite, but have been known to struggle in the nets.

Look for meyers to come up big, and Patterson/Glynn/Nelson to shut down those 2 superstars.

I think it depends on the goaltending for benilde to win this game. If meyers is as good as he was last year benilde will when this game.

I think benilde will win either 1-0 or 2-1 it's gonna be a defensive game.

Final was 7-3 in favor of shattuck.

However the game was much close than 4 goals, shattuck scored 2 late ones. it was 3-3 going into the third and they scored two quick pp goals and 2 late ones

score definitely did not tell the story in this one. BSM up 1-0 after the first and then a 3-3 tie after the second. Both teams came out flying and it seemed like Shattuck was evenly matched through the better portion of this game. Referees really took control of this one, ruining what i thought was gonna be a photo finish. 2 pp goals for shattuck and 2 in the last 2 minutes of the third put a stamp on it.

BSM / Shattuck

Here we go again, it is always the "refs" fault when Shattuck beats a M.S.H.L. team. I'd say there were penalties called against BSM because Shattuck was at least a step ahead of BSM and they needed to do a lot of hooking to slow it down. Shattucks power play was pretty weak the first 1/2 of game, even gave up a short handed goal. Now don't get me wrong. BSM came out strong. I thought Shattuck looked "flat" for the 1st period and 1/2. I thought the score was a pretty good indicator of the "whole" game, not the the first 1/2. When Shattuck wants to put it together they are pretty darn good. It was an entertaining game.
Loved seeing the whole AHA team there. A little scouting going on. We'll see if it pays off on Saturday.

Bsm did play very well but SSM had way to much fire power and BSM couldn't stop them

i liked the way BSM played

Apparently the game was much closer than the shots as well....35-15 in favor of SSM. Heard the same thing from BSM faithful after Edina beat them by 4 goals.

Must have been a real up and down 3rd period. I see BSM had 1 shot, it must have been a good one.

I saw a little bit of the JV game last night, when I left after two periods it was 11-0 SSM. Don't know what the final score was, but from what I saw that team could beat the majority of high school varsity teams. Looking at their web site, their record is 34-5-3 (now 35-5-3).

Give BSM a hand for scheduling such a national powerhouse
it really shows there character as a team to be able to stick with them through 2.
I heard they got into some reffing problems, but it looks like Shattucks top 3 lines were too fast for bsm's young D

BSM did out play them in the first and in the second was about even

but in the third benilde took 2 penalties and shattuck scored 2 early goals on the pp and then two late ones

they definitely took control in the third but the game was closer than 7-3
