I think MAHT has a decent chance for an upset in this game. They have strong goaltending and defense. I'm going with 3-2 in an upset of the "Class AA playing as Class A" Cadets!

I never really get that silly comment. Do you really think that the top A schools are inferior to AA schools. Any top A school can beat any AA school on any given day and vice versa. Its just a classification system based on enrollment not skill level. If SSP or Maht beat STA do they need to move to AA? of course not. If a AA school loses to an A school do they need to move to A ? again, of course not. This is a great classification system that allows a larger state tournament.

AA and A are different. Otherwise you would see Eden Prairie playing (er destroying, er dismantling)Caledonia in football. In hockey there is a difference I will say that, but I bet 7 out of 10 times an AA team will be an A team. Not to knock them, but the classes are for a reason.
Speaking of SSP, I figured the Park Rapids nut was going to come on here. "GUYYYYYS! Why do you all hate Park Rapids? We could beat St. Thomas anyday!"
But seriously, STA over MAHT.

EHSHack, what you just wrote doesn't nullify, in any way, what Bruins wrote. I think it actually strengthens it. You're right, as in other sports, the classes are there for a reason. Class doesn't define ability, nor should the top teams all be in the top class, just like in others sports.
St Thomas by 4, at least. Ben Marshall is good, but Mahtomedi doesn't play St Thomas well for some reason.
STA by 5

6-1 or so maybe 6-3 if marshall can move on his own. Mahtomedi is decent but if sta shows up to play its a landslide. STA hasn't came to play every game and they still do well, but what you saw against Hill is the real deal, they can shut anyone down with their speed, stamina, and skills.
God i wish they would play AA. Roseau would be embarrassed to play at that level and so should sta.

Which goalie was between with pipes for St Thomas?

Altrichter let in FIVE goals? Must've been crazy

I wouldn't say he let in five goals. More like five goals when in went in while being deflected in traffic, or in a 3 on 1 rush. Probably 1 or 2 did he actually have a chance of saving.

Defense for STA isn't as impressive as years past. They're pretty young.
