Mahtomedi Overrated??

Is Mahtomedi overrated? They are a consistent top ten team but were beaten up by South St. Paul who tied St. Thomas, Woodbury, and beat up on Red Wing. Why are they so high on the computer rankings? Any thoughts

You need to relax about mahtomedi. you think they are an awful team just because your south st. paul packers beat up on them. Mahtomedi has been playing great all season long besides that ssp game.

You're right. Nearly all of his 11 posts have been either a whine about SSP not getting enough love or pissing about Mahtomedi getting too much. They're both good teams but some people aren't happy unless they're not happy.

You're right. Nearly all of his 11 posts have been either a whine about SSP not getting enough love or pissing about Mahtomedi getting too much. They're both good teams but some people aren't happy unless they're not happy.

A my non bias opinion, Mahtomedi plays with more consistancy. They were beaten by SSP, and yes SSP tied STA, but SSP has lost to Park and Tartan. Those losses aren't horrible, but surely not consistant. SSP has a very talented goaltender...he's also young which can contribute to their somewhat rollercoaster performance. Just my opinion.

Why does everybody get so mad about where teams are ranked? Mahtomedi and South St. Paul will probably get the 2 and 3 seeds and play each other in the section semis anyway so what difference does it make which team gets which seed?

well if that actually is to happen and they do meet in the semis just like last year ssp will work them dirty once again...

Everyone makes the playoffs, so it doesn't matter until then, besides its not the LPH rankings that decide playoffs, its the coaches.

Mahtomedi, South St. Paul, and STA are all top ten teams so the rankings dont matter anymore its just no one wants to see a good game between STA and SSP in the semis then see Mahtomedi get work in the finals.

Theclassicburbs, mahtomedi has a lost to south st. paul and an overtime loss to hill-murray. Since those two losses in december they have won 8 straight with wins over some good teams. They also beat red wing by 3 goals, as did ssp. doesnt seem like they are overrated, but they have a real test against sta this week

My opinion is that we just wait to see the final score of the Mahtomedi vs STA game. If STA takes them pretty good then Mahtomedi might be a little overrated...if Mahtomedi wins, then they are right where they should be in the standings. Just an opinion
