This will be an excellent tournament with about 4-6 teams all with a shot at winning it.

Any predictions out there?

its sort of the point to set it up so the best 8 teams end up in one bracket. out of the first games grand rapids is not the easiest team to play. i think warroad and crookston are down but the rest of the teams i would consider solid ie thief river falls beat ep last year in this tourney. it also seems to me roseau played grand rapids first last year when they knew they were possible the best team in the tourney. Theirs always someone thats gona come on here and wine about something so whats the use to even bother to argue the point. do you think edina wants to play roseau right out of the gate and end up in the silver bracket with all the weak teams???????

I think it is a great way to divide up a tournament. Give the dark horses a chance to suprise someone. But also make sure after that teams are typically playing like competition and have a shot at winning something meaningful throughout the weekend.

I wouldn't be suprise to see Rochester pull off a early win.

So Watchdog, you are implying that Roseau would automatically beat Edina in the first round?

They will play in a pre tournament game on Thursday night.

That is the point watchdog! I agree! my point is that there seems to be all North Vs South first round games except Roseau vs Rapids and the two south teams! Why wouldn't they keep everything on the north vs south field?? Also see their is no second round match ups set up?? I would imagine they "Roseau" will play the wait and see game to see who they will want to play after they win their first game. But I agree you want the best teams in the gold division It just seems that Roseau played the cards so they get in the Gold division with out making it look to obvious by playing a Dist 16 team right out of the gates. Just my opinion you don't have to agree and I know you wouldn't anyway. That's my point also seems Roseau didn't want to play a team from south and Lose and have to play in the silver division. :)

dump and chase dont get excited im just making a joke. im glade edina is coming up early to play it adds alittle bit more excitement to the north country. what you guys are missing here is no matter what happens all the teams up here along with the parents are excited to play games with the south teams. its not an everyday thing and its alot of fun all around. as for the north against south i think elk river is sort of considerd north arent they? sure the citie teams will end up playing each other but its a great place to play filled with old hockey tradition and it will be a great experience for all the kids. we hope its a huge success with many more years to come.

If Roseau wanted to guarentee a spot in the Gold division wouldn't they have schedule a team like say Warroad or EGF? How do you know the second round is not set?

I'm just playing with you dog, I know you were just making a point. I know Edina and the other city boys are looking forward to the weekend in God's Country. This should be a great event. I hope all of this cold weather is gone by next weekend or it could be brutal.

I know it's not set because it's not on the schedule! :D It's TBD? I believe I answered the other question? Why would they set it up and Play another dist 16 team? That would be to easy!

Why doesn't Roseau just automatically put themselves in the Championship game and rest their team?

In the top half of the Gold Bracket it could be Centennial, Chaska, Roseau, EP. In the bottom half Edina, Grand Forks, Elk River,Wayzata, or EGF.

Wrong again - I have nothing to do with this tournament - other than a few shifts in the penalty box.

When did Grand Rapids move into district 16?

Are you assuming Roseau would lose if they played a team from the south?

whiner? just stating what I had. Now was that so hard?? Not sure why that wasn't sent out the first time? Oh and they would have a chance of getting beat if they played a team from the south but playing rapids there is no chance at all. Also tourney director where did I say that Rapids was in 16? read it again it says why make it look obvious and play a dist.16 team AKA Warroad/ Crookston
