What is Edina's infatuation with inviting the AAA teams to this tournament? A couple years ago they had the Thunderbird Team that walked through the tournment...it was such a miss match match that the Thunderbird team play every top Peewee Team they could find on the same days they proceeded to dismantale all the the team in the tournament. The closest game was a 3-0 win against EP and that was b/c they changed there system keep it close. Can't they find enough local talent to fill it?

The Thunderbids did breeze through the tourney 2 years ago. However, last year they did not make it out of their pool play and were sent home early.

The Thunderbirds are coached by a former Minnesota hockey coach, a really good guy. He started bringing the Littleton team to Minnesota for the Bloomington tournament right around 2000. He is now the coach of the Thunderbird AAA team and brings them up to Edina and then scrimmages everybody he can so his boys get about 12 games while they are up here for the week. If you get the call say yes, it will only make your team better.

I hope they continue to do it, even if they are waxing some better teams I think its a great experience. Kids really get excited to play a good out of state team and the Colorado guy always brings a well coached hard working team that's fun to play against.

My predictions are a little late so I will be brief and I have not seen the results from yesterday as of yet.

Pool winners
Wayzata
Elk River
Centennial

Wild card comes from Edina/Elk River game, Colorado team could make a push for Wild Card or Division if they get by Centennial.

I think its Elk River's tournament, they lead the state in shutouts and know how to score and being from Elk River they should be physical. All those add up to them leading the way.

Anybody know any results from yesterday?

Yes the coach for the Colorado Thunderbird's is Kent Murphy, he did coach Bloomington Jefferson before moving to Denver. He built up the Littleton association at the Pewee level and now is the coaching AAA. 2 years ago that pewee AAA team took 2nd place at nationals tier 1. Kent is a great coach who loves Minnesota hockey, especially High School hockey and tells his teams all about it.
