Is it me or is the talent level dropping off fast. Is it the numbers?

I could be way off (believe it or not it's happened before!) but don't a lot of the better U14's play JV? I have heard that the girls' programs use JV as a true feeder program versus the boys, so there's a preference to play JV over U14 at many programs (especially private schools) in spite of the number of games (which is one of the top reasons the boys seem to stay at Bantams). Hey, it's way cheaper!!

I understand you lose kids at this age to High School and u14 up north is often jv, because of numbers. Looking back to when my oldest player was u14a (now a college freshman) the skills don't seem to be at the same level. thats just my opinion. I thought it would make for some good discussion.

We will be at the Duluth tourney, this weekend.
Girls I've been impressed w/
#4 from Stillwater
#6&#8 from Highland (although they spend too much time in the box)
a girl from Centennial has some amazing hands, can't remember the number right now

#4 from Stillwater is one the best that I have seen this year and Centennial has more than one that have some talent, they have at least a line full.

There is not much else out there but most are playing HS.

Keep us informed at what you see up in Duluth.

Max,
You are probably right about Centennial, they are a solid squad. I just remember the moves the one girl made, she might be #7 not sure though. The best squad I've seen so far is the Thunder Bay Queens, big, fast and they play like a team. I'll bring the notepad to Duluth

Duluth!

In Duluth you will find eight of the top ten ranked teams in the 14UA level. Looks like a great field.

Chaska won their bracket, Thunder bay won theirs, Thunder bay beat Chaska for the over all championship. I did hear second hand that Thunder bay is a AAA team and plays year around, with boys teams on their schedule. That could explain their success, they won the cake eaters as well.

Then what are they doing in these tourneys? Seems like they should go east and play vs AAA and Tier 1 teams. Leave regular season in MN to community based teams.

SOG of 45 to 5 in a championship game is not good for the sport.
