Jefferson VS E.P. - Jan 3rd

Jefferson is 1st in the Lake and E.P. is 2nd. LPH, which doesn't mean anything, has Jefferson 1st (UPDATED) and E.P. 4th (UPDATED). Both teams obviously have talent but who do you think will win in the first meeting between the two?

Jefferson hasn't lost at home since the first game of last year(Burnsville) 15-0-1 in that span.

Jags 4

with centennial and Duluth East each dropping a game, this is huge for jefferson AND EP

I cant wait, this should be a huge test for the new guns on EP's roster too

My pick is Jefferson 4-3

Jefferson is a better team, but EP loves to play hard at BIG and always makes it a great game

TG handled EP early today in a scrimmage. I know its just a scrimmage, but if EP cant handle a good A team, they definatly wont be able to handle a very good AA team. Jefferson by 4

I thought E.P. played Edina very well and Edina is without a doubt a good AA team. I agree that Jefferson will win but I don't think it will be a blowout. E.P. is very capable of winning this game.

And Eden Prairie knocked off a good Minnetonka squad, which has given Hill-Murray their only loss of the year so far.

This should be a bigger test for Bloomington Jefferson than for E.P. Jefferson is undefeated but hasn't faced any of the major schools just yet.

MyFoxHockey.com will NOT be carrying this game, unfortunately. Anyone know if it will be webcast via a radio station?

Jefferson is obviously a good squad (9-0) but let's face it, they have played absolutely NOBODY yet. Somebody must be smokin' somethin' to declare the Jags 3 or 4 goals better than EP at this point.

I picked Bloomington to take the Lake from the beginning. I would be surprised if EP can beat the manly men in "powder blue" in their own house.

I am guessing it will be an entertaining tilt.

Got to agree with you on the absurd predictions of some. Should be a one to two goal margin of victory. Two possibly coming from an empty netter.

Agreed.......but EP hasn't beaten anyone of consequence either. The Lake Conference is down this year with only EP and Jefferson with any talent at all.

EP will probably not win this game, being at BIG. I think EP will split thier conference games with Jefferson. Too many sophomores getting caught up a Jefferson home game surround. A loss at BIG and a split at EP's home game in early Feb. Either one of these teams have been truely tested in their conference.

Got to agree and disagree. Nobody? Won a naibiter against the Schwann Cup Silver bracket finalist. Nobody though eh?

However, I agree very unproven, huge game for Jefferson.

Fair point Papa B....Wayzata has been underestimated and is a formidable team. I retract my NOBODY statement.

I said played not beaten. You can gauge a team by their play in a loss as well as a win. Eagles beat Tonka 4-2 and played a close one with Edina. Jags beat a tough Wayzata team (see earlier retraction). My point was that a 3-4 goal spread in favor of baby blue was ridiculous. It will be a battle.

I like that fact "Jags have not lost at home since the first game last year" Another thing to add to that just for fun is that the home game that jefferson lost to burnsville was on a different rink because there main rink (BIG 1) wasn't finished being re-modeled. So really, the Jags haven't lost on their actual home ice for maybe even longer than that.

Anyway, all of that really doesnt mean much lol but i seriously doubt that the Jags are gonna want to let EP walk into their rink and come away with a win. Last year the Jags won a tough win in O.T at BIG and i expect nothing but the same this time around. It will be a great game to watch but i see the Jags comin out on top

One more thing i'd like to add....

We all know of the superstar Defenseman Nick Leddy from EP but the Jags have a quite superstar at D themselves in Joe Faust. Look for this kid to perform just as Leddy does for EP. He is the captain of this team, look for him to step up.

it is a joke that wayzata is still ranked 19th they are definetly a good team and jefferson beat them without even showing up to play for most of the game. jefferson isn't as unproven as some ppl think.

however this is one of the top games of the season so far should be a great one if jefferson wins they will show they truely should be #1 and if EP wins it will show that they are a top team in state with leddy at the helm.

jefferson 4
EP 2

...expect jeffersons goals to not come until after the 1st period is over they seem to like to tease teams the 1st and then pump goals in in the next 2 periods so EP's best chance will be to score early however with jeffersons great defensive core its unlikely they will

JAGS 5
EP 2

EP has yet to really prove themselves as top dogs-- sure, a win over minnetonka and a good game played against Edina... but do they really belong with the top dogs? Same goes with Jefferson, they need to beat some quality teams to remain at the top of the rankings and gain respect on this site.

I see the first period close with the jags just pounded them in the thrid period with a couple goals.

Thanks for the game update. Why was the score so close if Jefferson dominated? Who was in net for EP? Do you know what the shots were?

Halloran was in net for EP, Jefferson did dominate for most of the game and failed to capitalize on key oppurtunities like their two breakaways in the second period. The shots were something like 43-16 in favor of Jefferson.

Are you kidding me? No Jefferson on FSN this year? With that said no Jefferson at the Schwan cup tourney?

Who's in Jefferson's section playoffs this year?

Go Jefferson!
