Teams have played a decent amount of games, and I am wondering what your predictions are for this year's state champs

to early to really tell. near the end of the tough tournaments (wayzata, edian, and albert lea are all strong tournements in january) people will be able to tell. having still played under 10 games for most teams, it's still blurry.

When was the last time a team won the state tournment that actually feilded an A team?

The last team that won a state tournament that had an A team was Wayzata Blue in 2006

The Junior Gold B, 16U, Bantam B, and Peewee B tournaments started during the 2005/2006 season.

Sauce2122,

You know what is even more pathetic than complaining about stacked teams, is someone who brags about winning a championship for a stacked team.

For most JGB teams, you were cut from Varsity, then from the JV, then from the JGA and in some cases from U16 and then ended up on the JGB, but not in Lakeville.

There is nothing wrong with hockeyfans take on the fairness of the JGB level.

It is probably very frustrating for your team not to be competitive.

Here are the scores of the Lakeville JGB team so far:

SSP 13 - 3
Rochester 11 -1
Albert Lea 6 - 0
IGH 4 - 2
Hastings Gold 9 - 1
Hudson 6 - 1

Man-up Lakeville. It looks like it is way past time to move to the Metro League. If not the A level, at least the B. Call off the dogs on those poor District 8 JGB teams.

Talk about pathetic....

talk about pathetic?... you think your really tight coming on here and talking down to junior gold b... ya lakeville had a great team last yeaqr and from what i hear have a good team this year also... two years in a row and then you come on here and cry about it... lakeville has 17 skaters.. they did not cut any players who tried out, they didnt get a real goalie until the last day of tryouts, they started tryouts thinking that they would be a horrid b team but a couple kids got cut and they talked some friends into coming out for the team... lakeville is lucky to have enough players to field a team... so why dont you grow up, at least a little bit cause right now you sound ridiculous.... go whine some more

I hope I did the quote part correctly. I will answer this one. I do not know if you are a player or an adult, it doesn't matter to me. But Lakeville did try and move to the Metro league when the Lakeville Association petitioned to District 8 and Minnesota hockey to move to District 6. The move was rejected by District 8, I believe two years ago. Therefore, no go on moving to the metro league. Do to the youth program in Lakeville, District 8 doesn't want to lose money. In the future who knows.

totaldominance,

The actual subject was about JGB champ predictions. hockeyfan replied about teams winning it who do not field JGA teams.

Not sure where you came up with RAVE and Lakeville moving to A.....that may have been another thread.

I was just teasing Sauce2122 and sticking up for hockeyfan510

I did not intend to demean or cut-down JGB players.

In addition, most JG teams are horse trading for players and goalies after the tryouts. That is why the Metro League has a special spot on the website for needing a player or having too many players.

That is a very common problem for all JG teams, not just Lakeville and yet other programs manage to field A teams.

Also, I knew District 8 did not allow Lakeville to move into the B league.

However, I think they would have allowed them to move into the A, like Eagan....not positive.

I'm sure that all teams that field just a B team are out to dominate and screw every other team in the league by fielding only a B team. Because apparently that is what everyone thinks Lakeville and RAVE are doing. When the team declarations are made, you are basing your team on the numbers you have and not the "well I heard so and so was going to get cut". When coaches and associations declare their teams in October, I'm fairly confident in saying that they are just putting their team in the most fitting level based upon the roster they are anticipating on having.

The successful teams are very cyclical in JGB. You may have 1 or 2 dominant years, then go back to being .500 or below. Look at Inver Grove 2 years ago; they won state and they didn't even make it back to state last year but everyone was crying for the same thing that they need to move to JGA. 2 years ago, Lakeville was a .500 team and now they are on a good run. If they continue this run for another few years, then yeah I would question if they should run a JGA program but not at this point. RAVE was one of the top teams the past two years and now they are 1-6 but if they would've listened to what people like hockeyfan510 are saying can you imagine how they would have done in JGA this year????

I have seen both sides of the fence having coached a team without a JGA team and also coaching a team with a JGA and I can say first hand that I don't see the issue for pushing teams like Lakeville to JGA after they have 1 or 2 successful years.

The facts are actually that Wayzata won JGB state in 2006 and I'm pretty sure they fielded an A team that year as well.

No offense but people need to stop complaining ya lakeville was really good last year (dominated us 9-2) and there good again this year but is it really the players choice what they play. They just go out there and play the game. There is usually a dominant team at a level and it should just feel that much more rewarding if you beat them.
