An early season showdown between the top two teams in the 218. At home, I'm going to predict 4-2 spuds with an empty-netter. Thoughts?

With East's strong D and if they stay out of the box and has a full team with no suspended players from the east and cloquet fight last night I know its alot to ask for but they can do it i got East in this one

East-3 =D>
Spuds-1

Out with injury? Because his game DQ would be served in the Anoka game they play the night before they travel to Moorhead.

Arguably the hardest game left on Duluth East's schedule, with Blaine being the possible exception. I definitely forsee a low scoring game, and until someone proves they can put up some points on East, I'm going to keep on picking them. Should be an excellen game regardless.

According to my world famous(?) calculations:
The Hounds are scoring an average of 4.6 goals per game.
The Spuds are scoring an average of 5.5 goals per game.

The Hounds are allowing an average of 0.6 goals per game.
The Spuds are allowing an average of 1.3 goals per game.

As a result:
The Hounds should score 2.95 goals against the Spuds.
The Spuds should score 3.05 goals against the Hounds.

Would that be a tie (or can't we round off) ?
If we can't round off, then whats the score ?

These calculatons don't take into account a hot goalie, home team advantage, penalties, injuries, homer refs, a last minute blizzard or more troops deploying to Afghanistan, in which case my numbers go in the toilet (now that would be a first).

You have too much time.

I feel like Moorhead will win this game. East plays back to back nights, and they have the long bus trip over to Moorhead.

Spud 3, Hounds 1.

East has not played anybody with the team speed and skill Moorhead has. Moorhead wins this one 4-2.

Moorhead is waiting to knock off the Hounds. If East doesnt bring their A game it might be in for a BIG surprise.

So your saying Centennial and Minnetonka did not have the team speed and skill and that Moorhead will....dont get me wrong Moorhead is a good team but East has faced teams with speed and skill [-X

With the way that MHD has been playing and the play of Logan Marks I see Moorhead pulling this one out.

MHD- 4
East- 3

That long bus ride up to Moorhead can give a team major jet lag. Both are good squads and I see a very good game. Spuds 3-2.

East 5-1. after a sloppy first period, they get there legs and take it to the spuds.

East plays a lot of road games for a reason. They are conditioned for road trips.

Im not really sure how good Moorhead is, but after seeing thier victories, Il have to say East 2-0 (seems to be the magic score) or East 3-1. Until East shows me they can be scored on, i cant pick against them.

4-0 is the actual score.

It was 3-0 after one, 4-0 after 2 periods and that's how it stayed.
