Should be a good game between two talented squads. Hopefully Hibbing comes to play and don't have another performance like the Warroad game. I haven't seen Hibbing play this year, but after watching Marshall this should be a very physical game.

I would have to disagree that they are the team to beat. Right now id say there are 5 or more teams that have a great shot at a state title. The race is a lot more open than it has been in recent years.

Remember back in February when everybody said that Marshall would walk all over Hibbing in the section finals. They were wrong. Big games always turn out to be close and this is a big game for both teams. It may be early into the season still, but I see these two teams playing a great game. Both teams and some kids returning and some new, so you never know what could happen.

DM - 4
Hibbing - 2

Hibbing has a shot at this. They'll need to step it up though and come ready to play. Marshall is a very talented team, and as we know have a funny way of coming back. It'll be a close one. But I'm pulling for Hibbing. And I expect an outstanding performance from Jamnick and his first line.

Marshall:2

Way to early in the year for Hibbing to beat Marshall, seems to be from years past it takes awhile before Hibbing starts to play at the level they need to be at to compete against the (topper) teams :)
toppers 5
jackets 1

Good call rinkrat! Marshall really showed their composure tonight. I think we saw who the top player in the section was. I'm still waiting to see Mausolf finish a game..

Close game shots wise Nathan Tromp played very well but Jamnick carried the team like he always does...it would be interesting to see how hibbing does if jamnick was out

He's not out though and it was a well played game by the Jackets. They controlled a good portion of the game and Jamnick came back from a bad game against Warroad and showed everyone what he can do. Marshall couldn't hold their composure, which resulted in Mausolf and Paul being tossed from the game. Give Hibbing a little credit for coming up with a big win.

Hibbing got a lucky win as the toppers were not ready to play and couldn't play as a team and did not have any composure what so ever. Can't wait for playoffs cause i want to see these two teams play again.

How did Hibbing get lucky? Hibbing outplayed the Toppers for most of the game. DM showed their true colors when they started getting chippy when they were down. A few games I went to last year they did the same thing when they were losing. Its pretty sad when two of your players get ejected for doing something stupid.

Paul Got Ejected for Cussing out the refs on a Goal...clear Goal but the Goal Judge never turned the light on.

Mausolf got a penalty for cussing out the refs about the same goal and got into the penalty box and apparently threw his helmet and it struck the Penalty Box Attendent. Leading to his Ejection

I just want to know, were you at the game? Hibbing controlled the Toppers from start to finish. It's not luck that the Jackets came ready to play and Marshall came in thinking they had an easy W. After all, I thought they were "the team to beat" in class A hockey. Marshall has discipline problems and they will get nowhere playing the cheap style of hockey they play. This is a totally different team from last year. Hibbing made a statement with that win, it was not luck.

Couldn't agree with you more. Marshall came in thinking it was going to be easy and then Hibbing really took control as Marshall looked sluggish after being down 2-0 early. You can't take anything for granted and Hibbing has a good squad this year and really made a statement.

"the Goal Judge never turned the light on."

The goal judge did turn in on when that controversial goal was scored. When I saw the light come on thats they only way I knew they scored because I sit way down on the other end of the arena and cant see much happening around the net.
