Checking from behind ....

I've only been watching girls high school hockey for about 4 years. In those 4 years I've never seen a checking/body checking from behind called. I saw two flagrant calls missed over the weekend. Sure the refs called a two minute minor - big deal. Many of you have been watching longer than me. Just wondering if the call is ever made. If not - why not? Kids are going to be hurt!

For sure one of the most dangerous, if not THE most dangerous, infractions in hockey. I agree that it's not called nearly enough in girls high school - they usually just call it checking or boarding, and it's a 2 minute penalty. They call it WAY more often in college mens hockey, and it's a 5 minute major - and often a game disqualification, which is as it should be.
