On Friday, November 7th and Saturday, November 8th the 20th ranked University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs (4-1-2 overall, 1-1-1 WCHA) will travel to Denver, Colorado to face off against the 6th ranked University of Denver Pioneers (4-2-1 overall, 2-1-1 WCHA).

The Bulldogs are coming off of a 5-1 stomping of the St. Cloud State University Huskies in the one game Minnesota College Hockey Showcase last Saturday at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. The Pioneers are coming off of a 1 point weekend against bitter rival Colorado College in a home and home series.

Both of these teams have had high flying offenses this season with two of the best power play units in the country up to this point. How do you think this series will turn out?

I'm hoping for a split this weekend. UMD played well last weekend, and hopefully they can continue to score on the man advantage. Stalock was great vs SCSU, and I'm sure they'll need him to come up big again this weekend.

Denver 5-3
UMD 4-2

This is going to be a difficult series for Minnesota-Duluth, especially with Denver looking to have a good showing in conference after only salvaging one point last weekend against bitter rival Colorado College, but I still see Minnesota-Duluth coming to town and riding a hot power-play and Stalock to a split. I'll go with...
Minnesota-Duluth - 2
Denver - 3
and
Minnesota-Duluth - 4
Denver - 2

Brady Hjelle from International Falls is making his UMD debut to start the 3rd period of this game. 5-1 Denver through 2. :?

Hjelle posts a shutout period.

University of Denver - 5
University of Minnesota-Duluth - 1
FINAL

Minnesota-Duluth's powerful PP gets blanked on the night.

Also of note, Hermantown's Chad Huttel got an assist on tUMD's lone goal which was scored by Michael Gergen.

Hopefully we'll get a better game tomorrow!
