How can you not pull for Josh Hamilton? That was the greatest ever... A boofin' Ranger having his name chanted in Yankee Stadium?! Ya gotta be kidding me.

I sat in my usual left field seats in that series against the Rangers and he made it a point to single out a kid in the stands after every between inning warm up to throw them the ball... same on the couple of occasions he caught a ball to end an inning... He didn't just throw them in the stands, he looked for kids. I thought that was one of the coolest things I've seen since I've been sitting out there.

The guy obviously made some terrible mistakes as a kid, but all signs point to him getting things right... even small things like that.

Did that State Farm dork just call Morneau "Jason"?

He obviously thought he was in the presence of greatness... Kubel.

Congrats Justin!

I'm a Hamilton fan, but it was nice to see the guy who got the invite at 10:30am yesterday come away with it.

Somewhat agree... It was very nice to have him shut that pompous windbag, Rick Reilly up. As soon as Morneau steps into the box in the 1st round, Reilly starts claiming that he has no business being there because he's white?! What an idiot. If you want to claim that Ryan Howard was more deserving of the spot, so be it - truth is, he probably was more deserving of Justin based on this season - but to imply that there's some racist agenda by MLB takes a big pair.

Idiot.

I hear ya. Shouldn't it have been Uggla that didn't belong then? He's a white National League player. Did Howard even make the AS game?

I love how all the commentators pretty much thought Hamilton was a lock. Shows how much they know.

Wow, i hate ESPN more and more everyday. All the crap they talked about Morneau not belonging there and all that, then in the second round, not paying attention to him at all, then after he hits 9 they say, oh well, now look at this...then still not giving him an ounce of respect, saying he's got no chance against Hamilton. I almost felt bad for Justin, during his interview (that they eventually gave him) it seemed like he almost had to apologize for winning it.

I thought all of that to. I still liked it when that tread in the third round said that Morneau should of gotten 7 HR's to put pressure on Hamilton. Even with 2 outs to go for Hamilton they still thought there wonder boy was going to win. Tough call for Hamilton to drop his wad in the first round. Way to go Justin, there should be a celebration for him next time the Twins play at home. That was Awesome. Ban ESPN!!!!
