'93s and USHL list

I just compared notes on the Advanced 15 rosters and the USHL '93 list. Seems to be a noticeable discrepancy between the 2, any thoughts?

...it's pure capitalism(USHL) vs the socialism (Advanced) of a crony based system based on geographic boundaries... You tell me which list you would pick from if your job depended on you winning with the team you picked...

Hey Jackstraw - Good to see you this weekend. Eric played great. We'll see who gets to the NHL soon enough, but overall a pretty good showing by D4 in New Hope, don't you think?.
As for the USHL, they don't miss too many, even if they don't have enough scouts in Albert Lea and Mankato.

There are not many Minnesota kids on the list period...I didn't calculate the numbers, but there seems to be a considerable amount more kids on the list of 92's from the state of hockey than at the 93 level.

Well, I would say this.. look at the 93 list and tell me that there are not any kids north of St.Cloud that are the same caliber of some of the kids listed . There is not 1 name from anywhere north.

Um, just a thought on this one, but in order to get ON the list someone would have had to see you play somewhere...tournament, showcase, etc...in the case of Minnesota Bantam hockey, NOBODY is scouting it, period. Most of the players on the USHL list are AAA players from throughout North America who are seen at multiple tournaments throughout the year.
BUT, in the long run, Minnesota players that are of value age (16/17/18) do eventually take over the numbers that lack at (14/15), so who cares.
A player that can play will be found no matter if he's in the panhandle of Florida water skiing after practice in december or if he's skating to elementary school in Manitoba...

According to a USHL scout that I've known for years, they don't even use the USHL Scouting List. My guess is that list is a marketing tool to get kids into their USHL Showcase in Chicago.
It's been said already, but where these kids are when they're 15 is irrelevant. It's a marathon not a sprint.
