Machine is very good...Icemen were up 1 to 0 after first and down 3 to 1 after fourty minutes...flood gates opened in final 20 minute period... Machine has more skill...Icemen will close gap - just a first year team...they are going to play Machine again in May...Icemen play Blades on Sunday and Team Easton Monday.

Were you at the game? If so which team does your son play on?

Didn't know that there was a 98 Icemen team.

Is there anybody that can beat the Machine in MN? or do they do this to everyone?
Is there a '99 Icemen team out there? If so would be interested to talk to somebody about it.

Gilmour, must have been typing as you were.

How long of games do they play, you said for the first 40min it was somewhat close, then opened up in final 20?

Don't most of these games for this age group only play 12-15 min periods?

How have the Blades done against the Machine at this age group?

The score was much closer after 40 minutes than 60 minutes but Machine dominated play more and more as the game went on...no clue on the Blades...this was a scrimmage so it was much longer than a tournament game...right now, not sure there is a better 98 team in the state than Machine...hopefully the 98 Machine, Blades and Icemen age group can create a rivalry for the next four to five years.

I'd be interested in seeing the Blades play the Machine. If anyone knows a date, time and location for this tilt, please post it.

You are corect, I coach the 98 Icemen. I think for the very first game ever for our squad we did pertty well. Nothing like starting out playing the best team at your age group to see where you stand.

There is no doubt that time playing together sure helps and we certainly learned where our weakness's are.

I believe the 98 Blades beat the 98 Machine two times last year

WOW, never knew that there was so much interest in a first year team such as ours. We must have really ruffled some feathers to earn a game by game score update on how our squad is doing...........

Now if we play these same teams 10 times each do we win 1 or 2.......maybe sometime down the line.

We as coaches of the 98 Icemen are bringing practice players along to get them experience playing against the top competition. To us that's more important than winning games at this stage of the season.

Sorry to disappoint!

Did you make fun of the Packers or something, seems Wisconsin coach is the most interested in how your doing.

You should be happy that they are getting your name out there on the site.

Who cares, pay to play means nothing, to bad for 2 and 3rd line guys who are paying the price for the 1st line dads.

Wake up!!!

mnb327; had a bad experience with your son or daughter? Sory to hear that.

Don't lump us all in as 1 group, we have been playing 16-17 skaters per scrimmage and we certainly don't have a #1 line let alone #2 or#3. These scrimmages are to find our area that we need to work on in PRACTICE, be it skills or team concepts & at this point we are finding plenty.

Don't worry about mnb327, he is just continuing his "Pay for Play" battle.
Mostly concerned for all the parents paying large $$$$ for hockey. mainly AAA teams. Icemen players past and present I know have nothing but good things to say about there experiences, so keep up the good work My_Kid_Loves_Hockey.

Hey, how was last nights game?

Better, Easton South won 4-3.

Kids made improvements from last game, that's what we need them to do.

98's. These kids are 9 and 10 years old. The only ones who should care about their hockey results are their families and teammates.

Waylon, your last post should be deleted. No one should ever talk about one kid (who is named) helping a ten year old team "own" another young team. It is not fair to the named kid. It is not sporting to the other young team.

Would you say to a ten y.o. "That team is going to own you."? If not, don't write it here.

hockeyparent11, you had to log on at highschoolhockeyforum.com, then click Minnesota Youth Hockey, then click 98 machine vs icemen RESULTS, then read them ALL, then type in you username, then your password. Then respond. Sounds like your not interested at all about the RESULTS. Guess what? they talk about 9 and 10 year olds on YOUTH hockey forums, thats why you looked. Imagine this, Hey Johnnie what was the score of your game? sorry I can only discuss it with my family and teammates. What?

I agree with hockeyparent11. I don't have a son on either team, but I do know how difficult it is to be a goalie parent. There's plenty of time to rip the goalie when he/she is older (and yippee for that. not.) Actually, I think that goes for ANY player. Let's let the kids be kids and hopefully, the grown-ups will behave, too.
