Offence will always win this award unless you put up #'s like Stauber or Ryan Miller in there respected times of college hockey. Kevin Porter(I hate the other U of M)should win this award.

The three people who voted for Oshie are on crack. He isn't even the best candidate for the award on his own team this year.

Okay Gopher fan. You're just mad beacause no one made it from the Gophers. Hence you probably thought that Wheeler should have been on there. Well he isn't and that's the reality of it. So just get over it.

Why would I be mad about an individual award? I care about team success. The individual awards are nice (after all, the Gophers and UMD have had more Hobey winners than every hockey program) but I don't get too worked up over individual awards. There was nobody on the Gophers worthy of it this year so I have no reason to complain about who is up for the award.
I didn't say Oshie didn't deserve to be a finalist. But the winner? No chance. I highly doubt he'll be in the "Hobey Hat Trick" (aka the three finalists). He isn't even the best candidate on his team. Lammy has a much better chance of winning it than Oshie. Oshie doesn't have the numbers of some other guys on that list. He is a very good player and he will probably be a good pro player but they judge on this season's performance. His doesn't measure up to some of the other guys on that list. Not to mention, character is going to count and a few run ins with the police in the past year isn't going to win any votes (even if they were for minor offenses).
