As you all know he is planning on finishing his senior year this year to play for the Gophers next season. But after watching him this weekend against some of the best teams in the state I start to question how successful he will be next year and how much good it will really do. He is obviously a very skilled and talented player but when the game got a little chippy and physical he didnt seem to do a lot. I guess if I were Don Lucia I would maybe have him play a year of Juniors or even a half year if he does really well. Get him bigger and stronger. If he has a good first half in Juniors then he can enroll at the U for the second semester and start playing then. But I just dont see him being really effected in the WCHA right away with the way he played this weekend.

He's a great player and great players adjust. He had 2 bad games so what everyone has that. He'll be fine and will make a good player at the U.

You can sit here and say he had two bad games in the State Tourny...but yet if you were to ask any outsider watching both those games...they would still tell you that #10 for Roso is in a class of his own.

He'll be in the Gopher lineup from day 1. He won't be playing any junior hockey unless you count playing for Team USA at the World U18 tourney later this spring.

I also think it is ridiculous to read too much into one weekend of games.

You also have to remember he won't be the target in a gophers uniform that he was this weekend.

He should get bigger before playing with the big college boys. He was getting pushed around a lot out there. Add some strength and he should be good to go. Cant wait to watch him play for the gophs

What you are forgetting is he isn't graduating early. He will be 18 in May, which means if he stayed another year in HS he would graduate as a 19 year old. If hockey is in his future that year will make a big difference, risk injury in HS or get caught up with the rest of the kids his age. Someone mentioned he was held back as result of moving, which is fine. He has been a very good HS player on a very good team but if he wants to develop he needs to move on, which is what he is doing.

Where did he move from?

I think he moved from Hill-Murray Middle school. He grew up in Hill-Murray MN.

ALOT has been made of Aarons size. Heres something to think about, Ryan Duncan of UND is very close to Aarons size and last time I checked hes done very well at the college level. Size is easly covered up in college because of the level of players. You can send 2 guys onto Ness and not expect to be beat by someone else. I personaly wish he was gonna be at UND next season but I sure will enjoy watching him with the Gophers next year.

Playing D in the WCHA has more to do with the ability to see the ice and make plays. Crowley was not a big guy, nor was Ballard. Yet they were 2 of the best.

Spehar struggled cause he lacked the skating skills needed to make up for his small size. He was also too small to do what he did best, Score in traffic.

Ness will dominate for the next 3 years. much like Crowley did.

Ballard has good size, even in college played around 200. Ness will be just fine, can't wait to watch him move the puck on the big sheet at Mariucci.

Very good player, but didn't even come close to what Crowley accomplished in high school and probably won't come close to his college career. More of a Larry Olimb career, which wasn't bad.

In high school, he was a great player on a really good team with other good players and he had a target on his back. Next year he'll be an average player on a great team with other good players.

If anyone has watched him enough this season. He was definitely NOT 100% against Hill Murray Friday night. Not certain what Ness's injury was but the kid did not have any ability to accelerate Friday night. Not sure if it was the hit from Thursday night that did it or the punishment dealt Friday night.

He'll be on the same team as Jordan Schroeder who already has a year's experience against college players. Yes, he'll be good, but on that team he'll be an average player.

The Gophs will know exactly what to do with him...he will be fine...he is an exceptional hockey player and yes he was in his own league...his vision is sick!

The brutal hit he took against Blaine just might have had more of an effect on this play from then on than people realize. I was surprised he even got up.

Lets hope that his play wasn't affected by the check he took on Thursday. While that may have been dramatic at the high school level, that would fall into the expected category in the WCHA.

When I watched Aaron Ness play this past weekend, I saw an excellent player who made plays every time he touched the puck. I have watched the games 2-3 times on tape. He played great. I am just an observer, but an honest one. Trust me, I nor anybody else knows what he will do in the future . But lets not take away his present. Great job Aaron!
