Grand Rapids has a very good team and I'd like to see them do well.

I hope everyone does well but based on how GR has fared when playing some of the better metro teams, I think they will have their work cut out for them!

This time of the year anything can happen, Shakopee beat Mtka at regions, so nothing will totally surprise me.

after roseau beat a larger east grand forks team i think they have the ability to beat any team at the 12a level. the egf team played warroad the night before and the 2 teams had an astounding 22 penalties. remember this is a 12u girls team! hats off to roseau and good luck!

Wow....that's alot of penalties!

Like GR, Roseau has not played many metro area teams. Roseau lost 5-3 to Chaska (9-20-3). Chaska did not qualify for district play and lost to Edina 9-0 and Shakopee 7-0 during the season.

Think Grand Rapids has played a few good city teams. and did pretty well againest them. very close. 1 goal games. and in youth hockey that is pretty even.

I only found wins against Elk River (1-0) and Roseville (1-0). Elk River has an overall record of 15-17-7 and Roseville 16-18-3. Neither made it to regional play.

GR lost to Cottage Grove 3 times, lost to Edina 5-0, and Highland Central 6-1. Although these teams made it to regional play, none of these teams qualified for the state tournament. Strength of schedule is important.

Good luck to Grand Rapids and all the other teams in the tourney!

ok I will go out on a limb.. since no-one else will.

GR vs. Minnetonka one goal game. I will not pick a winner. Heart says one thing, mind says another. GR home ice advantage

Shakopee over Andover 2 goal game

Lakeville over Buffalo --- Barn Burner

Roso vs. Centennial --- march madness ... an other close game

winner of roso - Centennial over Shakopee in OT...

winner of GR - Minnetonka over Lakeville

roso over GR 3 overtimes
or
Minnetonka over roso and Centennial 2 or 3 goals
or
GR over Centennial 4 goals ***Home ice***

Sounds like alot of heart for gohome! I'll try to be more scientific (I'm dreaming...be easy on me!)

First round only.....

Minnetonka over GR 4-0 (Minnetonka is the team to beat!)

Buffalo over Lakeville 2-1 (This could go either way)

Andover over Shakopee 3-2 (could be lopsided the other way...depending on which Andover team shows up)

Centennial over Roseau 4-0

OK...

Buffalo over Mtka 3-2 (again...could go either way...Buffalo was up 3-0 on them after 2 periods in their last game...Mtka came back and it ended in a tie 3-3)

Centennial over Andover 3-2 (if the right Andover team would show up...they could be in the final)

Lakeville over GR 4-1

Shakopee over Roseau 5-1

Minnetonka over Andover for 3rd place 4-1

Lakeville over Shakopee 4-3 for consolation.

There...did I miss any?

Yes they are....more important....look who they've played!

Buffalo is 41-2-4...not too shabby either....both losses were early in the season...one to Minnetonka!

I'm not that anal! Buffalo has played nearly all of the top teams and with the exception of early season losses to Cottage Grove & Minnetonka has been undefeated. I suspect the recent LPH rankings are not far from reality:

Minnetonka
Lakeville
Buffalo
Shakopee
Centennial
Edina
Cottage Grove
Andover
Roseau
Grand Rapids
