The Minnesota Boys 2008 AP All-State Team Ballot is out.
Click on this link to see who was nominated:

Balloting ends at midnight March 8.
Some players have a lot written about them and others just have their name, school and position.

The two obvious votes are Joe Rubbelke & Trenton Krueger... the rest are just faces in the crowd.

It is obvious that all the players who have extra blurbs are from out-state - go figure

Could they hype up the Roseau/other out of the metro players? Holy sugarcakes thats a bit biased. I mean, why do some players get their stats listed and others don't?

Sorry, he was on my hand written sheet and I forgot him - that explains my uneven columns.
I edited my HM's, but someone more important noticed him.

Good list. I would maybe scrap Tony Krogen (even though I am a Marshall fan) and add Sean Stewart from NU into the Honorable Mention. Tony did get a lot of points this year but when you play teams like Sleepy Eye, Luverne, Worthington, Windom, Redwood Valley, ect twice each, anybody that can skate is bound to put up big numbers. In the two head to head games I saw NU vs. Marshall, Stewart far outplayed Krogen.

I'm glad to see DeCennzio in there. I was wondering if he'd be inculded.

That is biassed, so you got even and ranked the best player in the state as the third best defenseman. If that isn't enough you keep Budish off your list completely to lose all credibilty for the rest of your posting life.

Your goalies aren't in the top three either.
I believe every school was allowed to submit a profile for nominated players. You should call Burnsville High on Monday and complain to them since they dropped the ball.

A ballet vote for the MN Boys AP All-State Team...
From a TV station in Minot North Dakota...
Is this to add authenticity to the vote? Unbiased journalism? In depth knowledge on the best MN HS hockey players? Wow!
What's up w/ this? Doesn't it strike anyone as odd?

You're right...but I don't care about Bville. I stand corrected:

I'm not as "HYPED" up as most on Aaron Ness. I mean, even the NHL scouts say his shot couldn't break a rice cake. He'll get shut down against Edina, that is if they get past HM. I also don't like the way Buddish plays, he puts up points, but I don't like the style. He didn't stand out in my mind at the Edina v Bville section final.

I really hope you are kidding

Everyone has him listed as a 1st team All-State player.
Additionally, Coach Lucia and most NHL scouts are really high on him.
What do you, in your esteemed opinion, see that trained professionals do not.
It seems you have no idea what you are writing about.

Huge Hook, let's not make arguing on the same side a habit. Buddish is everything every scout wants.

Why can't we make it a habbit?????
Buddish has just about everything a Western Conference NHL team could desire in a 17 year old prospect. From what I have seen, he's a bull in the corners with above average hands and a real good "hockey sense".

Best goalie in the state? He played against Hill-Murray 3 times this season and got beat 3 times, giving up 13 goals along the way, with a good defense in front of him. The best goalie in the state would have been able to pull out one of these games, and not lost to park. Owen is good, and played well on Friday, but not top in the state.

wait, the same owen collette who has lost 8 straight times to HM, never been to state, and left HM?
oh yeah, that one.

Owen is better than "Phlip." HM just has a better team in front of him.

Please go forth and tell me Huge Hook where I said Buddish is anything less than a decent player. I said he is a player that puts up points, but I personally don't like his style of play. That's the great thing about the U.S., you can voice your own opinion, and mine doesn't have to be the same as Coach Lucia and the NHL scouts. Unfortunately, that isn't the case in this situation, because our opinions are fairly similar. Don't take me wrong, he is a great player, he just wasn't the player I had at the top of my mind in the Burnsville Edina game.
