So what is the deal with Mischke? What's not being said in the media? Is he the one that pushed for going A or was he fighting for AA?

I was told he didn't push for it but he was going to support his players decision. 8)

Haven't heard anything as far as replacements yet. Elliot will probably be more in the loop on that.

This looks like it could be a possibility. Bart Larson I believe is going to hang it up. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Most of the coaching openings that are posted on the MSHL website that you specifically mention have been filled. I can't explain why openings that have been filled for 6 months- one year are still posted on the MSHL website but either way, looking at postings from 2007 and assuming in 2008 that they are still open is not relevant or legitimate to the current situation.

Hey Cabela10 why don't you go to Hastings and talk to the youth program. You might not have such a big mouth. We all are praying that he does not get ahold of the 1st year Bantams. This group has a chance. If he is still hear I can guarentee more defections. He should take one of the assistants jobs that has opened, then he won't have to work with them. It won't be his responsability. You have no idea how bad it really is. Say a prayer for the Hastings youth, and maybe the good lord will come calling. If your reading this Russ, please do the 1st year bantams kids and parents a big favor and step down, we still have a chance.

Instead of posting and hope Russ is reading, why don't you get a set and call him up!!!!

My sister has 2 sons coming through the ranks down there. Needless to say she's not looking forward to Welch getting a hold of her kids. They are both pretty good. But her and her husband can't afford to leave. Sound's like Welch hung the phone up on one of the varsity mom's a couple weeks ago? Sound's a bit childish to me?? Maybe all these losing season's he's had are starting to take it's toll??

If it's so bad in Hastings, and everyone feels this way, and is united, why not just go play JRG and reduce the HS program to such low #'s that they will have to listen or drop HS hockey? which I doubt would happen.

This "bored" is not the place to get it taken care of, go to your AD in mass with a signed petition, and tell them what you plan to do, and why. If they still won't budge, then the school board, if that doesn't work then follow thru on your plan, and go play where you will enjoy the game...as that's what's most important anyway.

I don't know the particulars of that HS situation, but the coach is a paid position, albeit not much, but that also means it is based on performance.
It doesn't matter how long you've been there, they are paid to put the best product on the ice and try and win.

The fact I keep reading that the youth parents are worried about this situation before they even get to the HS level, would be more telling then the possibility of it just being upset parents of current players (or the players themselves)
Now if it's just a minority group on here trying to spill their sour grape juice....well your just preaching to the choir.
