At least the weather wont be a factor. While Blaine certainly is capable of posting an upset if the bounces go their way, I think they will come up short ... yet again. It's going to take another team in green to beat the Rams.

Could go either way - a tough first rounder for the Rams. 3-1 Roseau, empty netter seals it.

This years Champ: 7
Blaine: 2

I look for the RAMS to blow out Blaine as a scrimmage for Hill.

Should be fun. Blaine outplayed them last time, minus the score. But I don't know where they're gonna get the scoring from?

I don't thing Blaine has what it takes to defeat Roseau this season. Even if they do outplay the Rams again this season they still have to get the puck past Mike Lee. The only team, in my opinion, in the state to have enough fire power to do this is Edina.

But Roseau will be on top of their game at the tourney as they have been throughout the playoffs. They will not be beat.

I'm looking forward to this match up. I was at the game on Baudette Bay where the brutal conditions took both teams off their game. Roseau should prevail, but this is the state tourney and anything can and does happen!

I'm always a bit of a pessimist, since I grew up in the 1960's and would see my Rams go to state every year (nine years in a row) only to lose at some point. I was a senior in 1971, and watched them lose 1-0 to Edina in the championship. They did win in 1961, but I barely recall that. As a middle-aged adult, (I am now 54) I have enjoyed seeing them have success at the state level.

I hope they get by Blaine, if for no other reason than to see how they perform against HM and Edina or Benilde. I don't think anyone has a more talented team than the Rams. This team has as much or more depth than any Ram team I have seen.

Win or lose, thank you to the Rams for another entertaining season at Roseau Memorial!

Rams 4
Bengals 1

I was listening to the section 5 championship game last night and it sounds like schaber and frischmon are their go to guys... I think the bengals will put up a fight but ness will take control of the game.

4-1 Rams

If Harper plays like he did last night, along with their first line, Blaine will win. Roseau is a very good team and they know what to expect out of Blaine after beating them 1-0 on hockey day, but I think Blaine is going to get some redemption after last years state tourny loss to Burnsville.

radio interviews

As a former player for the rams i always liked listening to what bill lund had to say. I've been at college and listening to the rams on cats website. i was wondering if there was any way that Z and the cat could interview him at the state tournament. nothing against oliver but i find his radio interviews a little bit over the top. i liked to listen to what bill had to say in the locker room and i would like to hear what his perogative is during the state tourny. i know he had the boys flying in practice and i hope he keeps up the good work.

rams 5 (EN)

What game did you watch, I just watch the game this morning, I tivo'd the whole hockey day Minnesota first periond was even, Second period Roseau out shot them 11 to 6 and the in the third Roseau out shot the bengals by 8 and the play was in Blaine end most of the third. I think in the xcel Roseau will dominate.

Roso will win this one by a bunch. You can't look at the last game and say well it was close...it was 40 something below windchill on chipped up ice. Those conditions really don't do a finesse team like da rams a favor. Blaine better enjoy thier game at the X.

I think this will be far from a blow out. The bengals first line is outstanding and will give Lee a run for his money. They will have to get some good bounces and have Harper keep up his stellar play but I certainly think they have a chance. Should be a fun one.

Give me...

Blaine 2

Roseau 1

This should be a good game however look for the Rams to pull away late in this game. I say its tied going into the 3rd then Roso opens it up with the final being 6-3. I was at the first game in LOW and believe me Blaine wont have the wind to slow down the speed of Roso this time and its going to show as the game goes on

This is an interesting re-match in the first round, but I expect the improvement in the environment will change the outcome somewhat. Blaine's a good team with a realistic shot at a consolation championship, but I don't see them beating Roseau.

Roseau 5
Blaine 2
