I know the seeds havent come out yet but the top 4 seeds are undoubtedly going to Roseau, Edina, Benilde, and Hill so who's the best unseaded team at state?

It would probably have to be Woodbury.

It's without a doubt woodbury, anyone who wins the section championship 8-2 against a top 10 team has to be on fire.

Personally, I think that if White Bear had beaten Hill-Murray in the 4AA finals, Woodbury would have received the #4 seed.
But, like I've said before, if you want to be State Champions, you have to be able to beat any of the teams.

Agreed. It's gotta be Woodbury.

i think its blaine cause they beat a top 10 team in centennial 6-1 in their section championship and they played roseau hard and only lost 1-0

I say Blaine.
If souths goalie is hot they are the best.
That kid could single-handedly change the whole tourney

Cloquet had to beat the #1 & #2 seeds to get there - I believe the only team to do so. They shouldn't be taken lightly either, they're playing very well - but have a tough draw.

i agree if i were to rank the teams i would go with
1. Blaine
2. Cloquet
3. Woodbury
4. Lakeville South
Blaine, Cloquet, and Woodbury are all capable of pulling first round upsets
and Lakeville will need close to a miracle

I would say Blaine but Woodbury can make a very good case.

The fact that you can make an argument for 3 of the 4 unseeded teams indicates how good of a tournament this is shaping up to be.

Most people seem to think either Blaine or Woodbury. Let's compare the two:
Woodbury Royals: 22-6 on the year. Won SEC with a 14-2 conference record. Have won 9 in a row. Second state tournament appearance in 2 years. Key wins in sections over 2 top 10 teams: Eastview (5-3) and Rosemount (8-2).
Blaine Bengals: 20-8 on the year. Took third in Northwest Suburban League with a 13-5 conference record. Have won 5 in a row. Key win in sections was in sections finals, 6-1 over #11 Centennial.
*The rankings I used were from followthepuck.com

What about Class A? I would have to say Mankato West is probably the best unseeded team there.

Little Falls probably gets the #4 seed if they beat Cathedral earlier in the year...

Woodbury for sure AA
Mankato W is definitly tough in A, I would say they are best, LF is close but a loss to Cathedral hurts, maybe if they win that game they avoid a raw deal in the draw two years consecutive.
