The "Little Engine that could" Little Falls Flyers

this team is the best kept secret in the state even without superstar jared festler who would have been mr. hockey this year if he had decided to stay with the flyers his senior year. yes virginia, even would have beat out mr. ness.

these boys will be the darlings in the state tournament and their cinderella story will be remembered for years to come.

Image

watch out for this innocent looking train to come rolling into st. paul ala 'trojan horse'. wouldn't want to be the team that gets the unlucky draw to play 'em in the first round.

Virginia? I believe Aaron Ness plays for the Roseau Rams.

I think a 4-Peat in any section deserves at least a 4 seed.. lets bring it ohme this time flyers!!

Little Falls would be the favorite in class A if they didn't allow private schools to play there. Maybe one day the MSHL will wake up and move all private schools to their own class

Honestly, I think LF is an awesome team. They are my second favorite team in this tourney. But the last three years shouldn't have any impact on this years seedings. Those years are completely independent of this year.

VideoScout - good to have you back on the board - hope you purchased the new kneepads! It's no secret I'm a fan of the Flyers, however, they will not earn a top 4 seed this year due to lack of respect for them and their conference and section. I would argue that they deserved a top four last year rather than this year. I wonder how Jared is feeling about his decision to leave at this point in the season? The Flyers have to win their first game this year no matter who they play.

BTW, Vid - $1200 to record a game - that's highway robbery! Further, your poll is in error as they only seed the top 4 so we will never know who 5-8 are.

I'd say the fact that they lost to Cathedral has more to do with it than disrespect of their conference and section.

Who's to say that SCC is assured a top four seed? That's the issue with seeding - most of these coaches have not played or even seen many of the teams in the tourney so it's a guess at best as to who should be 1-4. If you do not think that history and tradition play a major role in who gets picked, I'd say you're mistaken. I would argue that Warroad should not be a top 4 seed, but based on their history, they will get one because most folks think they are always a good club.

I'll tell you, 100%, that SCC gets the #4 and Falls gets a tough draw with #1 STA.

And Warroad will get (or got) seeded because they beat DM and SCC.

TOP 4 ?????

sorry to rain on your parade but someone has to be a debbie downer

i posted this in the sta lf thread

I have seen both teams play a couple of times this year, probably one of the few that could say this about both teams.

i think sta will win 6 or 7-2 LF keeps getting the bad draw at the X

Maybe they just need a better team if some think that they keep getting a bad draw.........

A pipe dream is a fantastic hope or plan that is generally regarded as being nearly impossible to achieve

Arguably the five seed drawing the one again. You have to love this system.

I'm just kidding Herman, this is one thing we do agree on. Seed them all or don't seed any.

I've seen both teams play multiple times as well and I could not agree more with your score.

Yep, if we took all of the private schools out of this tournement then Little Falls would be the favorite....(don't tell that to Warroad, but I suppose they "should" be playing AA hockey too huh)....You know, why don't we make about 4 classes of boys hockey in Minnesota, AA, A, Private schools, and every team that hasn't won a championship ??????.....that'll work untill every team had won a championship.............
Time to quit complaining and get to work. What's the matter Little Falls fans???(or some might be players)....it seems like you're already making up excuses, geez, it's a good thing the Flyers didn't draw Litchfield for the first round, what excuses could you come up with then????? You guys had no problem at all with the idea that Little Falls could win every one of their regular season games, win the section tournement...but now, no the Flyers can't beat that team.....that's crap guys.....
The Champion of the Central Lakes Conference, and Section 6a should be expecting to play in the X-Cell Energy Center on Saturday after noon....other wise, stay home ....

nice try angus. i wish it were true about the vidmeister being back on the board because i'm a huge fan. nevertheless, his ghost does suddenly appear periodically through seances run by stitchy. it's no secret i'm close to the vidmeister. heck, i even know his dogs name. of course Angus, the beauty of this whole thing is that i know who you are, and you haven't a clue who i am. i know that drives you nuts.

$1200 to record a game? i'm in the wrong business. word on the street is that the cameraman is no longer doing hockey games and he has abandoned his confidence in the us economy and shifted his assets overseas.

will the real mikey please stand up? lulu knows everything, i'm just the piano man.

BTW who ever said anything about seeding only the top four. i could give a rip if the mshsl seeds only the top four. this is my poll and i call the shots around here.

[hey slappathiah , do i do a good imitation of der schvidmeister?]
