Definately going with Mound on this one. Breck is inconsistent and could come out slow. They could come out and play well but Mound always has a knack for making a run during sections. Brian Nelson stand son his head for Mound and Horgan feels a large boost of confidence being back for a bit now.
MOUND-5
BRECK-3

When did Mound make a run for sections???? Brian Nelson gives up 9 goals to Orono. He will give up 10 against Breck. The defense in front of Nelson is very bad except for Ryan Hurd, when he is not in the box. Fulton, Rehkamp, Borer, Herd, and Weingarden (sp) will pummel that Defense and put up 10. Breck wins 10-3 and advances.

close game that could go either way
it's up to Nelson and how he plays, but i remember that 60 save shut out vs lourdes

MNHocker444, dont know if u play for Orono or dont like mound or Nelson but I believe that was a little while back. Just remember Brian nelson putting up 60 saves in that 3-0 win over Rochester Lourdes. This gmae could definately go either way. I guess its just who shows up. Still
MOUND-5
BRECK-3
P.S. MNHOcker44, Nelson giving up 10? cmon lets have some sense here and be reasonable. This game should be close. Don't even make posts if your going to make unintelligent predictions........

Well I saw 9 legit goals go in on him from orono. So why is 10 not intelligent for a team that beat Orono???

That's pretty optimistic. These are two good teams, I think it ill be closer than that. 5-3 Breck.

MNHocker you have to get over orono losing to Mound. for Breck to beat Mound by 10-3 is just really dumb thing to say just because your still upset that orono lost. Mound is a decent team.
Mound 4-3 ot

Let's break it down
Goaltending
Both are decent, but edge goes to Russell as he has put up great numbers in big games (STA, Blake, Orono, Cretin, Wayzata,etc...)
Defense
Da Mustangs. I'll take the Mustangs Herd against Mounds Hack... I mean Hurd any day and the supporting cast is stronger than Mounds.
Forwards
1st line may be a toss up. Second line goes to Breck and Mound doesn't even have a third line!
It's Brecks destiny to face Blake for the championship..... Breck 5-Mound 2

The Mound team of November and early December is back and will knock off Breck 5-3. I like how Mound plays and they have a ton of experience. This is pretty much the same line-up they had out there last year when they lost to the eventual Class A cons. champs. Mound may not have enough to get past Blake, but they will play in the finals.

I'm taking bets on how many times the Mound goalie will kick the net off. funny how no one else has had any problems with the net....
My bet is three before the ref's penalize, they'll be looking for it.

The STMA goalie had problems with the net too... weird how goals were disallowed for only them two... coincidence?

Breck is young, that would be the only thing that would hurt. Ill make this bet tho: 2010 Breck 6 Mound 1

depends if mound can get luckey enough to have 4 disallowed goals against breck like they did last thursday and yes that is the only reason that they won.

Mound got down quickly and never got back in the game. Honestly, Breck had a half dozen additional scoring opportunites. The score could have been much worse.
Should be a great one on Thursday for the section championship, with Blake and Breck splitting the first two in lopsided affairs.
