3. Eagan- lost, lost, and tied 3 district 6 teams prior to playoffs
4. Eden Prarie- good team, but #5 and #6 are better
5. Chaska- with every trny, you can make money on the hot team: i cannot dispute this team right now..... it is # 2 by the way.
6. Edina- # 6 is a stretch, i have them as the 2008 state champs
7. Coon Rapids- if they are out forget it: but they are not set to be a long run playoff team.
8. Roseau- I like Cloquet here, we will see.
9. Apple Valley- AV is not in regions... underachieved
10. Elk River- this team beat my prediction of 2008 champs , twice ! So i must move them up.... #8
11. Minnetonka- this team is good, but in district 6 you must be great... top 15 in state, top 6 in district 6.
12. Grand Rapids-see Cloquet
13. Burnsville- a team that the coach makes better than what they have, I root for a team like this... everyone should do their job like this team plays hockey.
14. Lakeville South- PRESEASON #1 ???? Lose the parent coaches.. see bantam A problems
15. Lakeville North- Not in the same league as South... which is more of a knock on south...South should bury North by 4 each time.
16. Maple Grove- no idea...
17. North St. Paul- What year is this LaValle, seems to be selling his abilities..... Bernie says call me......
18. Roseville - no idea but great program
19. Little Falls- " Only 30 minutes to the Lake Kids"
20. St. Cloud-top 20 just because of their arena MAC

MISSING : STATE RUNNER UP : Cloquet..... in my top 10.
- others Jefferson is good, problem ran everything thru 10 kids, not 15.
- Blaine is a top 10 hockey team
- East Grand Forks can bring it.
- Moorehead good top goalie , certainly in the mix.

D10 does not have a true double elimination tournament and with St Cloud defeating Coon Rapids and then ER defeating them 5-0 you would think Coon Rapids would be eliminated and St Cloud vs ER for the Championship (as each had one lose in the tournament), but D10 does not do it like the other districts (D6, etc).YouthHockeyFan wrote:slapshot88 wrote:PEEWEE "A" TO P 20 RANKINGS

Coon Rapids played well enough to win the St Cloud game and was a head with less than 2 minutes to go and the Ref (he wanted to be very involved in the outcome) made a horrific call on a open ice ck that put St Cloud on the power play and they scored. From there CR's starch was gone. Good for St Cloud, but you hate to see Ref's become the main attraction of a game and the better team did not win on that day.
Got to give St Cloud some credit they have a goalie that is standing on his head right now and even though they don't score much and typically get outshot most games against good teams, the goalie keeps them competitive.
The latter part of the tournament ER was the class of it defeating Andover 7-2 in Andover, Centennial 8-1 and CR's 5-0, but with the loss of CR to St Cloud to little to late and finished 2nd in the tournament and no trip to Regions as CR and their 2 game losing streak got an auto bid.

Bronc...I couldn't agree with you anymore. My son was playing
after the Coon Rapids - St. Cloud game and saw a full 2 periods of hockey. Coon Rapids had there opportunities but didn't capitalize. St. Cloud goalie didn't make great saves it's just that CR didn't pick there spots. The call he made towards the end of the game was unnecessary. This ref #12 has a ego problem and wants everyone to know that he is in charge. He has been this way all year. This call put St. Cloud on a 6 to 4 man advantage. I am not saying the ref lost the game for CR, but it did decide the outcome. By the way we had this same ref as a linesman in our 2nd game on Sunday and 1 of our players was at least 4' offside as our team crossed the blue line he waves off the offsides and he is only 10' from the play. D10 should not have this ref in any District tourneys. D10 has some good refs but this guy is a bad reflection

I saw roseville peewee "A" OUTPLAY COON RAPIDS AND WON 3-2. good goalie on roseville dominates. also #7 and #11 great kids.

Eagan beat Chaska 5-4 , lost to Edina 3-0, Lost to Burnsville 3-2. These are scrimmages and sometimes coach's let the lines play instead of short shifts for the 3rd line and lets win at all cost. Well Chaska beat Edina twice and Burnsville was eliminated. Eagan finds away to win and they might not be the best team. They beat wayzata too.
Lakeville South has a great player that can hang with anyone. But, good teams will shut you down if you try to go through one player. AV is the same type of team. Both Teams would struggle if #7 LS and #24 AV didn't carry them. Chaska has some great players but , they play everyone and come playoffs you need fresh players. thats why they win.
Cloquet is a solid team and will surprise most teams how good they can be.
Lakeville North can beat the avg teams and will lose badly to the Woodburys, Eagans 8-1 score & 7-0. Teams have bad nights but this team is to up & down to be considered in top 20.
Edina needs to play all the lines to be considered # 1 to me. they have 10 good skaters I would like to see the other 3 or 4 before I crown them.
Eden Prarie is a quiet team that gets the job done. They let the team do the talking. They remind me off chaska. they just get the job done.
Burnsville is a pesky team and well coached, 15 -20 team?
Minnetonka lost to Eastview 2-0. No disrespect to Eastview but, Minnetonka can't be in the top 20 with that loss. I know they beat edina 6-1 and the game was at 11am so maybe they got a good night sleep.
Jefferson fell fast and I think they had some talent so I don't know if someone got hurt or coach's didn't get these kids to the level they belonged at. Know way top 20.
Roseville team is to up and down for me they lose to teams they should beat and this is another team that is not top 20. That district is down this year. see my new rankings. next post

Roseville team is to up and down for me they lose to teams they should beat and this is another team that is not top 20. That district is down this year. -coachj--- Roseville beats the very good teams but sometimes has those breakdowns. but they did play with the top 10 teams so thats why they are in. and also they did win when it counted most--= districts.
and D2 did have some depth worst team was a not bad Stillwater team.

I put them in the top 16. If districts were still going on I would have teams higher then them. I agree 7 and 11 (and I would throw 17 and the goalie in the mix) are very good. What impressed me the most about Roseville is that they can beat a very fast team in White Bear Lake, and they still managed to dominate a very physical Tartan team. Nobody, I agree D10 had some really good officiating in District tournament in general. I watched a lot of games at all levels (Sq thru Bant & C's - A's) and it was the best officiating throughout the year. Unfortunately Ref #12 is not included in those compliments as game after game he made a point to ensure he was a focal if not the major one in each game he worked. AV had a tough run in D6 playoffs Minnetonka, E.P.,Burnsville,Edina in back to back to back to back nights. I welcome anybody to play those teams in the same format 4 games in 4 nights. Agreed. District 6 is toughest.

elk river is a stretch, I thought they advanced through back door.
Grand Rapids lost twice to Coon Rapids so how can you say they are better?
Roseau played only 10 games of top competition and went 5-5. They will be a great team next year. Maple Grove beat them how can roseau be better then MG.
Little falls only has 23 games listed on Mnrankings. Hard to rank them any higher.
Eagan has never lost to an unranked team. They lose to Edina, Woodbury, Wayzata. So they have to show a little more vs top teams.
They have beat Chaska, Wayzata which is in most peoples top 5.

CoachJ please read the previous posts as to why CR qualifies for the regions tourney. Seems like we are going over the same subject twice.
If, infact, you are a coach and lets say in the CR position would you, even though you lost the championship game for the Dist. 10 title and are guaranteed the 2nd seed in Regions play your regular line up against Elk River? This game had no bearing on the seedings for Regions. Neither team came to play. There was no game strategy. Play the players that don't get regular ice time that also put there time in at practices. Why put injuries, game misconducts at risk when going into regions when nothing is at stake? Did the scoreboard reflect a 5-0 Elk River win over Coon Rapids? Yes, it did. Did the results change anything? No. Figure it out. Like my previous posts CR is a good team. They have beaten every team that is in there pool in Regions with the exception of Hibbing who they have not faced. Being a opponent in Dist. 10 I wish CR the very best of luck facing some good Northern teams
