Scouting reports on state's best players.......

A lot of us know who's good, but don't know how they are good. Can we have some honest (try and limit the bias) reviews of the state's best players. here are a few guys i'm impressed with.......
Zach Budish EDINA - Bull of a kid with incredible shot and surprising hands and playmaking ability. IF he played more physical he would terrifying. Great player though.
Marshall Everson EDINA - Buries the puck with great poise, as pure of a goal scorer as I have seen. Very smooth with good size and no visible flaws, not dominant but very good.
Christian Isaacson STA - BEst overall player for Cadets, plays hard as anyone and has great vision and solid defense. Looks like one of the most underrated players I've seen.
Adam Mueller ROSEVILLE - Hardest competitor I've seen all year, what he lacks in skill he makes up for in speed and intensity. Top player in SEC, no question.
Danny Mattson AHA - Incredible hands and vision. Elite playmaker, coasts without the puck but magical with it. I see him as a Jay Barribal type player at UND.
missing some, but these guys stood out.

no, its not but those are the first few who came to mind. Many more but my fingers were getting tired. I'm not asking who's the best, just the strengths of some of the best players.

Jake Gardiner-Minnetonka: Top NHL prospect in the state. Tall, lanky kid. Grew up playing forward, switched to D as a sophomore. Still learning how to play defense and is already very good at it. Excellent offensive defenseman.
Tyler Zepeda-Hill Murray: Very small (5'9", 155) forward. One of the fastest skaters in the state. If he gets on a breakaway, no one will catch him. Absolutely refuses to hit or be hit, shies away from all contact. Still a very skilled player.
Joe Gleason-Edina: Another very good skater on the blue line. Moves puck well. Racks up lots of assists, partially because of the ridiculous amount of talent surrounding him, so it's difficult to tell just how good he really is.
Aaron Ness-Roseau: Probably the most naturally gifted hockey player in the state. What he lacks in size (5-10, 165) he more than makes up for in pure playmaking ability. Absolutely owns the blue line. Unfortuantely, scouts have said he "couldn't break rice paper with his shot." Nonetheless, he is the only player in the state who, when you watch him play, you know he belongs on the ice.
David Eddy-Woodbury: Not necessarily a top prospect, but seems to be quite underrated. Leads SEC in scoring. Not the biggest kid around (5-10, 175) but loves to throw his body around and lays some vicious hits. Has excellent vision on the ice and is a good playmaker.

zepeda is getting better with hits, i saw him dish a couple last night in moorhead. Its tough always being the small quick guy though

Hard not to put Nick Leddy from EP in the discussion. Game in and game out - he is usually one of the best players on the ice. Like Everson and Ness, he is only a Junior and has committed to U of M.

What do all these guys (leddy, youso etc) play like? I know their great players, but what about their game makes them so good?

Ness is officially a senior now. Age-wise he should be a senior anyways

Get yourself out of the shadows of them big bulidings in the cities and come up north and look at some real hockey, bud

If they only play "real" hockey up north, what do they play in the rest of the state. Fake hockey?

Don't get to worked up LZ94, it's probably one of the Fruit of the Loom cheerleader guy's from G.R. that has never played before, but know's everything about the game and players. Hopefully we will see him at the Decc. shaking his pom-pom's.

im not saying you guys suck at hockey im just saying people from the north just dont like south hockey like in state when the refs favor the south team and then they get shut down when roseau (about as far north as you can go) takes home the state title and grand rapids takes second and all those private schools dont

Quit wining about the southern officials, look at the roseau/G.R. thread, and I-falls/G.R. thread you will need some cheeze there to go with your wine also. The south has way more top quality teams and players than the north, from youth to high school, totally different than from the 60's to 80's when the northern teams ruled, Ness & Youso are the cream of the crop, yet some G.R. people still try to find way's to critisize there play in some threads, critisize the refs, and even there own teams play at times. G.R. is a blue collar team this year, and if they don't play that way they won't play much longer. So hopefully it won't be just east at the decc representing 7aa next saturday, we would love to see you girly/guys all dressed up.
So stick to that because your clueless.

I didn't say anything about the south playing "fake hockey" there silk. Up north we have the best and most physical players in the state hands down

I ain't your buddy, and I don't live in the 'crete. There are other places they play hockey then up north and in the cities. They play it pretty well too.

Zepeda and Eddy should not be in the prospecting company of Ness, Gleason, and Gardiner.
on another note, can I get some good reviews of Mattson and Riola. How about some other talent out of Roseau? You dont get to hear much about anybody except Ness. I would love to hear input on other players.
