ROSEAU AT I FALLS, WHAT DO YOU THINK

I have seen Roseau and I Falls play a few times this year.I have been impressed with both teams, although I didn't think Roseau played all that well against Blaine, but I'm positive it was tough to play in the weather conditions. I' ll take Roseau 4-2

I think the current IRC champs will suprise the defending state champs. The Bronco's will be up for the game. Tough for Rams to be up for every game.
The game should be an interesting matchup. If I Falls wins (Which they are good enough to do) we can quit hearing the Edina tougher schedule argument. I think when you talk tougher schedule part of it is distance of travel as well as strength of opponents, weather (-40 Wchill outdoor game). The Blaine game inside would have helped better guage how the Rams stack up to the city teams.
Rams should watch out for flying frozen burbot from the student section when I Falls gets their 1st goal. Tradition like the Detroit octopus thing.
I Falls -4
Rams -3

I watched Roseau yesterday outside and if it were indoors I thought the score would of been much higher. Great game by both clubs, I wonder how many kids and coaches are treating frostbite. Anyways Roseau will take Falls by 5 goals at least.

The only Falls game I have watched was against Virginia, and I think that if they play like they did the first two periods of that game they have a very good chance of upsetting the undefeated Roseau Rams. If they only show up for part of the game though this one could get ugly

Isn't it only about 100 miles from roseau to IF?? not a whole lot different than edina driving up to play duluth east in my book.
the weather? it was one little game. its not like they play in these conditions every third game. They players should thank lee for holding them in and the refs next time they have that crew for some home cookin'
Fun game to watch though. ness can really dish the puck. his passing was great given the conditions and some rough ice.

I think travel does make a difference. (Yep they do not play outside hardly ever) You may want to study your geography some as you seem a little thick upstairs. I Falls is actually ~128 miles arena to arena if you want to nitpick. Your state does go further north than Highway 10. Nearly every away game Roseau travels a long distance. Moorhead is aboot 180 to 200 miles and is in their region, St. Cloud is about 300 and in their region, Brainerd 300+? same region, Buffalo 350+? miles same region, etc.. Roseau could play some quality Canadien teams and shorten their travel (100 miles or 2 hours minutes to Winipeg). Canada plays a little different game and rules than Minnesota High School so likely a reason they are not very compatible. IFalls, Warroad, and LOW are all in the same boat being on the northern frontier. I Falls and LOW likely more so.
Edina is a great team as they have shown. All of Edina's region is within ~30 miles. Roseau's closest away game is 22 miles (Warroad), the next closest is ~60 miles (TRF & LOW). Then its about 120 miles to
EGF, GF RR, GF Central, Crookston,
I Falls, Bemidji (why is Bemidji with its enrollment in class A with the "small" schools?)). All of which y'all down south of the Mason Dixon (Highway 10) say are soft teams - I disagree with
a few in the list.
Roseau to Duluth is aboot 300 miles and a 5+ hour drive. Edina is a great team and I applaud them for traveling abit, but Dultuh is closer to Edina (on faster Interstate roads) than Moorhead (closest 8AA oppponent) is to Roseau on slow two lane roads (unless they go to ND and down). Totino, Jefferson and Blaine can make it up to northwestern MN area. Why can't HM (by the way I think their scheule is incredibly soft and it is not a geography thing for them), Tonka (very strong schedule), Edina ('nuff said)? I would think RR would be interested in playing some of these teams and they are very worthy competition year in and year out if a city team wants a second team for a weekend trip. Geography makes a big difference on how strong of schedule you have (although HM and AHA have other reasons for a soft schedule).
Ever ridden on a yellow school bus for 4++ hours? Not conducive to playing good hockey right away. I would bet Edina rides in nice coach bus with captain seating and other niceties, etc. as alot of schools do now. Good for them. That travel option is not feasible for Roseau.
Roseau's schedule this year is not much different than last year but since Moorhead is down a little this year, Roseau's Strength of Schedule is lower. Last year Roseau's SOS was second highest in the State Tournament. My point is sometimes you are a little stuck by geography on who you play and SOS is hard to predict. Roseau is in AA because they want strong competition when they make it to the State T and not because they want a "soft" schedule. Anyway we will see how it all turns out in March

as pre March 9 ratings mean some now with the seedings but little more than that.

i said the distance was about 100 miles and you come back with it being 128 and i need a geography lesson. I thought i compared that trip to a team from the cities traveling to duluth. around 2-3 hrs.
so what if they have to travel 180 miles to moorhead. how far does moorhead have to travel to get to roseau. i am guessing about the same distance? just like an edina and their opponents travel the same distance to face each other. could we say it's relative.
If anything roseau and these towns should be used to the travel and preparing for games after a long trip.
I just thought it was odd someone had said something about if roseau loses it will be from the travel...but i doubt IFalls will hang with them for more than a period.

is HM's schedule incredibly soft? In know there conference isn't that good but what can a coach do about that? Next to nothing i am guessing.
some of their nc opponents.
Benilde
White Bear ( Twice )
Minnetonka
Duluth East
Holy Angels
at Moorhead
Wayzata
They have some cakewalks in their too and i am not gonna deny that. I guess i have seen some high ranked teams not even putting together a list like this one. oh well.

As he explained in the big post, Roseau has to take little yellow school buses where moorhead gets a nice coach bus. And by the way hwkfan you made no sense when u said that edina and their opponents travel the same distance to face each other. I never thought that 30 miles is equal to 200 miles. Yah they do have to travel but when its shorter its a lot nicer.

I Falls has a real good team but Roseau just doesn't give up many goals.
Rams 4
Broncos 2

I picked an I Falls upset on Boblee's week 10 bored picks, so I better stick with it. Roseau is playing with the target on their backs, Lee's streak has to end sometime, and so does the Rams.
IFalls 2
Roseau 1
I think Roseau will use this game as their wake up call and not lose a game the rest of the season. Just a feeling.

The Pressure is mounting on the Rams with an undefeated career goalie and undefeated team. Streak has to end sometime. Can they
Handle it and fry the burbot that get tossed their way when the Broncos score:?: Happy snacking-

Unless they want to throw the burbot at their own goalie in warm ups I'd leave them at home. The Rams will not lose this one. I'll say 6-0.
