I think the whole Bobby Knight thing has been/is a real sad story.

A great coach and teacher who couldnt control his anger on several occassion and dumped all over his own legacy.

He is the kind of guy that deserves every bit of praise and criticism that he gets.

Rumor has it he is going to take an assistant coaching job with the Fighting Susies hockey team.

He would fit right in.

But Bobby has already signed on with the WWF.

Well at least there will be plenty of objects to throw across the ice. (sticks, waterbottles, etc....)

What a great pair of role models they would have on staff with Hakstol and Bobby

I dont remember seeing the "Solo Salute" given by a hockey coach ever.

Yup, great for the kids.

Its hard for me to understand such high achievement being accompanied by so little self control.

No, but I do remember when Craig MacTavish ripped the tongue out of Harvey the Hound's mouth. That was way worse (better) than giving the bird.

It just happened at the Fighting Sioux- Gopher game didn't it? The UND coach disagreed with ref and flipped it haha.

I agree, PB. I think there is a big soft side to him people rarely get the chance to see, too. He was very passionate, and the fans that surrounded him were die hards who respected his intentions. A great coach, a great leader, but very little self control.

Woody Hayes still has my all time favorite "bad temper" episode.
I can still see Belushi and Gilda doing the skit about it.
(Did I leave anyone in the dust with that one?)
