This is what we call an upset. Proves Park Rapids isn't amazing, but not that they can't compete with top teams. They shut out TRF, who beat Moorhead. Not saying they'd beat Moorhead, but they can probably skate with most teams.

From what I hear it was a poor night at the office for the Panthers. Time to get back to work. I'm kinda glad they had a wake up call - a little less pressure goin' into playoffs. They'll need to play much better. Congrats to Kittson Central for goin' into the land of the unbeaten and doing what TRF and countless other teams couldn't. Like Shanty says: Yes: It Can Happen

This loss could send PR into a tailspin for the rest of the season. Be interesting to see how they play against Crookston next week.

There glory days are over. Crookston will take them in OT. I thought Crookston was going to be the first team to knock them off. I guess I was wrong.

Just for the record PR didn't beat TRF. TRF lost, they played terrible. I'm not trying to take anything away from PR, but Thief River should have beaten them.

Just like the US didn't beat USSR in the semifinals of the 1980 Olympics. The Soviets lost. Please take your sour grapes elsewhere.

I'm not bitter about TRF losing. I just don't think either team is that spectacular and we won't be seeing them come march.

8)

Actually, the US-USSR game was not a semi-final. The teams played both opponents from the other pool, and there game against each other was factored in also. US - Gold, USSR - Silver, Sweden - Bronze.

I don't know about the touche' zambini, but the USA USSR was a semifinal.

The Us had to beat the checholovakian's (sp) to win the gold.
The russians won the bronze

They had to beat the Finns in '80 to win the gold. They beat the Czechs for the gold in '60.
