They play the Delbarton School from Morristown, NJ, I guess it's a prep school.

It's too bad only private schools are able to do this. It would be great to see some of the premier public schools in MN to play the best public/private schools in the East. A team like Roseau would be a great pick to represent HS hockey in Minnesota.

Why are only private schools able to do this? Holy Angels doesn't fund the trip out east, the families of the players do. If a non-Holy Angels program wants to do this they would find a way to.

This is true. I know that many other sports, basketball baseball soccer wrestling and football among others, have gone out east or west or south and played other schools. If a school wants to put together a trip I am sure their boosters would be more than willing to assist with fundraising and all the logistics.

If a team raises the money themselves, along with the help of the parents, they should be able to go wherever they want.

Both Mpls North and Henry went to Chicago this weekend for basketball games. Henry went to Miami for three games last year year, as well as these three games in Chicago.
If a program deems it necessary, they'll go. In AHA's case, they get the east teams to come here every other year and they go down there every other, cutting on travel costs. In Henry's case, they go to what looks like a tourney, so they have to go there every year.

How was the scrimmage conducted...straight up, did they work on special teams, etc.
Anyone there to see it?

The first 45 minutes was full strength. For about half of the second 45 minutes the teams switched off being a man short for a couple of minutes

I would rather see Roseau travel to St. Paul during the season to beat Hill and STA.

I'd rather see Hill play Roseau in March at the Excel for a state title.

Maybe if we all start up a collection for hotel and bus money we could make this happen.

Back to the scrimmage. I am really proud of Metcalf, the Wisconsin kids and the rest of this year's team. When else have the Pioneers had three or four lines this good and balanced? Forwards need only improve play in their defensive zone, and Roseau will continue to be too scared to play them.
