Minnesota-Twin Cities in the top five....uh, no. Not right now.
My thoughts on the top 5 in the WCHA right now:
1. Colorado College
2. Denver
3. North Dakota
4. St. Cloud State
5. Minnesota-Duluth
I purposely put a space between the top two and the rest because they are the obvious top two with a pretty solid gap between them and the rest of the pack.

To me, it is Denver, CC, and then everybody else in the same muck.
I don't see a heck of a lot of difference between the 3rd place team and the 8th place team in the league this year in terms of quality. Not because everybody is so good but more because the league is so mediocre this year.
UND could move up with the other two on the national picture with a late run but they haven't exactly been all that impressive either on a week in and week out basis either.

Completely agree. Badgers beat the Pioneers 7-2 last Saturday, but can't get a win against Mankato??? Michigan Tech, UMD, SCS, UW, Gophs - all capable of beating any team in the nation on the right night. Makes things exciting. I see 2 WCHA teams making the frozen four and those teams might not be CC and/or Denver.

After this weekend (not actual standings, just my rankings):
1. Colorado College - top 3 team in nation right now
2. North Dakota - won 5 straight
3. Denver - lost to Air Force 5-2
4. St. Cloud State - idle, 4th best team right now
5. Minnesota - are a top 5 team, just need to play like it
6. Wisconsin - hot and cold team
7. Minnesota-Duluth - over-rated, and we saw it this weekend
8. Michigan Tech - idle, starting to fall apart
9. Minnesota State-Mankato - hung tough at home against UND
10. Alaska-Anchorage - nothing going right

Not sure what you were watching but I saw a goaltender keep them in 2 games this weekend. To say we saw it this weekend is almost shocking, the gophs didnt pound them down. I havent seen a list where the dogs are top 3 and we all know what can happen with great goaltending (just look at South St Paul with that certain goaltender a few years back...).
To claim over-rated about any team as a gopher fan is almost a slap in the face as we were highly touted before the season and even after the first 2 weeks...

OK, well lets take a look at today's USCHO.COM top 20.
3. Colorado College
4. North Dakota
5. Denver
13. St. Cloud State
16. Wisconsin
17. Minnesota
19. Minnesota-Duluth
24. Michigan Tech
27. Minnesota State-Mankato
NR. Alaska-Anchorage
Where is UMD on that list? 7th! Anyone is capable of winning any game at any time in the WCHA but they are NOT a top 5 team, they were, but not anymore. I'm not talking about the score of the UMD/UM games, I'm talking about what I saw. They looked like one of the worse teams in the WCHA. Which team will show up? The team that got beat 8-3 by UND or the team that beat Denver 3-0? The truth is that they have 2 wins in there last 10 games. I guess I can't really say over-rated because they are barely rated.
