Huge rivalry game both teams need a win who is your pick to win this hockey game and by how many? Apple Valley is starting junior Shawn Nanne in goal for the first time in confrence play in his high school carear. Big game for apple valley coming off a 7-1 loss to ep and getting outplayed the whole game except the first period. Eastview is coming off of a 3-2 win over lakeville south. Last time they met this season Eastview won 7-3 although shots were very even. What is your prediction on this game?

I don't know why Nanne is starting but whatever Eastview wins by a few I'll say cause AV will still score some. Bad coaching decision by Hayes. If Valley gets down by a few early it could get ugly cause the AV boys can easily hang their heads.

EV 4
Valley 2
Should be a tight game. Eastview just to strong for apple valley to hang with.

Depends on who starts in goal for EV. If Valley puts a couple in early this could get out of hand. I think EV will win but they will have to find some consistancy in their goaltending. Krob starts then they win by a few. Oshea starts and it could be tight...

Gretz, he played well against Eagan in his last start. Hersch struggled against EP from what I heard, I was unable to attend the game. I did hear Gretz came in late and gave 2 of them up I believe it was maybe 3 but from talking to the players they played with no heart in front of him by that point.

Interesting to see who EV starts O'Shea played the first time gave up 3. Krob is coming off a 3-2 win over South.

EV-6
AV-3

2 minutes left in third when I left.

EV scored the sixth about that time. EV went up 2-0. EV 2nd or 3rd goal was 5-3 PP. Fischer scored a penalty shot for AV to start them off. 3-2 when it was headed to the 2nd period. After 2 periods of play it was 5-2. Nanne made some good saves but also did give up some bad goals. Weber had the other 2 for AV I know. O'Shea played alright nothing great nothing to get frustrated about. EV's 1st line didn't click tonight I didn't think like I have seen it before. Overall better game then last time. These 2 teams could meet again for a 6 v 3 section game.

6-3 final ev over valley. nanne played very well for his first start with 42 saves, although allowing 6 goals. apple valley's defense was horrendus and got out shot 48-25. eastview didnt look too shabby tonight, although their goalie didnt do so well.

Actually Nanne played pretty well in goal and faced over 40 shots. A little shaky to start with, but you can't put this game on the goaltending. Can't quite figure out why, but the coaching staff went to running two lines for about half the game. The top two lines got really tired in the last period which led to the final goal. There has been a lot of line juggling this year and apparently he ended up putting together only two lines he could trust in tonights game. Should be interesting the rest of the year

Not sure if your talking about EV's offense here, but they play 3 lines a game, and the last two games they have played four lines for a period each.

Three soft goals for Nanne, you gotta come up with a big save every so often. Tough spot he got put into by Hayes. D wasn't great for AV either. Gretz or Hersch play it's probably a one goal game. Eastviews goalie wasn't great either though. Eastview was the better team.

2nd period

Eastview took control of this game in the 2nd period. They allowed only 3 shots, and I think a couple may have been icing on net. When EV skates like that they will be a handful for any team.

AV goaltender was a non-factor. He did his job with a few nice saves, despite giving up 6 on over 40 shots. The EV goals at my end of the ice were topnotch. EV tender wasn't tested all that much.

EV was the better team last night.

I was talking about AV using only two lines. It did look like Eastview was using three or four lines and looked much fresher in the third period. Good coaching decision by EV.[/quote]
