Roseau @ Crookston 12-7

As much as it hurts I am going to have to select Roseau as a 5-2 winner in Crookston on the 7th. Crookston's inexperience at D and lack of substained intensity was very visible in their loss against the Warriors. Until each and every player comes to the game and gives 100% effort both ways on every shift of every period I do not see many victories against top rated opponents. Don't get me wrong Crookston has a great team but they need to show more hunger to be successful. Hopefully C-town can prove me wrong as well as Marvin who was quoted in the Herald as saying that Roseau is the team to beat in our section. What does the crew on 220 think?
Love,
Mom

Are you joking that is no excuse they have been playing like crap you can't keep kissing there butts because they use to be good. Did you get that they use to be good you can blame it on them missing there Defence thats like saying we played bad because the reffing was bad that is a line of crap. You can't keep kissing there butts. They have no excuses because good teams have no excuses. They just need to keep playing the way they play and improve because thats what they need.

I haven't seen either team play. So it is only hearsay...but I like Roseau in a 5-3 contest.

So Crookston loses one game and all of a sudden they USED to be good. All good teams lose a game or so. But I agree Crookstons Defence is weak, i pick roseau over Crookston 4-2. But Crookston will come back later in the year and win.[/b]

No excuses here, the Pirates just need to take my advise and they will be just fine. Yes this team use to be good and took 3rd at state last year. They lost very little to graduation and reloaded with some talented youngsters that are still trying to find the confidence to compete at this level. Hopefully it will start Friday against a very talented Roseau team.

I haven't seen Roseau but got a glimpse of Crookston when they played Brainerd. Word on the street is Roseau has depth. Crookston is relying on last years success.

Are you a coach?

No coach here, just call it the way I see it. The Pirates have the tools and the coaching, the players just need to get more hungry for the win. There is a big target on their backs every game night and they must come ready for battle.

I'm gonna have to say that the true teams to beat in this section right now are roseau and warroad both of which are extreemly close as for crookston, that all depends on what team shows up to play. They may not have lost many players last year but it cetainly looks like quite a few of there players got lost. i know of a great quote by paul coffey that crookston may need to look at.
"Hockey's a funny game. You have to prove yourself every shift, every game. It's not up to anybody else. You have to take pride in yourself."
To all those crookston girls where are you at right now and i hope you can comeback to where you should be.

Crookston 5 Roseau 3 I can recall Crookston losing to both Warroad and Roseau 2 weeks before the Region playoffs last year and the same doom and gloom was brought up then. Crookstons goalie lets in 6 goals on 12 shots against Warroad and the whole team suddenly is bad. Its a long season, I never expected Crooskton to go undefeated and a few loses here and there helps show that nothing comes easy and hard work is still needed.

I have been talking to Sioux Rules lately

and we both agree it is too early in the season to push the panic button. The Pirates had a poor showing against the Warriors and everyone seems to be jumping ship. Well I for one will stay aboard while the rest of you walk the plank. These Pirates are just getting warmed up and will beat Roseau 4-3 tommorow night in a fast paced game. Good luck and go get'em girls.

Based on results to date Roseau is a 2 to1 favorite over the Pirates. Can't wait till they drop the puck tonite and see who comes out the victor. GO PIRATES

Just got back from the Carribean in time to freeze my feet in the Crookston ice box. Great Roso comeback. Like most people have been saying, they are solid, quick, and know what it takes to win.
