I'm sure quite a few people do.cheapshot wrote:who cares
May not get many, if any, DI college scouts, but I have seen NAHL and USHL scouts at games. Its a good league to play in if you're not quite at the Tier II Junior A level yet and want to keep chasing your hockey dreams. The league does advance players to DIII college hockey.puckinawsum wrote:This league is not a good one, I have haerd from coaches that if you are lucky you will get a scout a game. Kids aren't getting a lot of exposure and college offers out of this league. One coach I talked to said that the MVP of the league last year didn't even get talked to.
A) Yes, the Ice Hawks have fans...that's about it. They are a good team, but an outlier in this league. The league as a whole isn't the best and there is very little light at the end of the tunnel as far as advancing beyond a D-3 college.crash wrote:![]()

You guys know nothing about this league...go watch the Ice Hawks play. 1,500 fans a game, TONS of scouts. In the past 6 years over 60 players advanced on to college hockey.
"I talked to a guy once and he said he knew about this one league and said it was bad."
I talk to players after every game in Rochester and they were studs in high school hockey and they say this is way better hockey. Some of the Ice Hawks were tendered/played in the NAHL and they say it's very close to the same play as the top teams in the MJ.
A) For a price of about $5000.00 a year for that development. I'd rather play NAHL for the cost savings and use that monies for the D-3 college tuition.crash wrote:A) Because it's better to play in front of fans.
B) It's a better place to play then Alex, Fargo, Owatonna, or North Iowa and lets face it, unless your one of the top 15 or 20 players in the NAHL your going to play D-3 anyway, so why not PLAY jr's in a place where your going to develope under a good coaching staff and PLAY hockey, not sit in the stands or get jerked around by a NAHL team who's only looking to turn a buck.
C) Everyone love a winner
Like I already said, the Ice Hawks are not the entire league. They have had success and props to them. That doesn't make the league good. But, like I already said, they are an EXTREME outlier in this league. The league is not a top-notch junior league, and it's pointless to argue with someone who thinks that it is....that's why there was a hush falling over the crowd...crash wrote:....and a hush falls over the crowd.![]()
Hey Crash, instead of guessing, prove that what George said was wrong. I'll give you one to prove me wrong about: 80% of the players in the Tier III league couldn't make a practice squad for the NAHL. Of course, there are exceptions, and after a year of maturing, they might do it next year..crash wrote:I bet 90% of what you said in your posts in this thread in incorrect, who's got a sniff eh?
I don't know if you can possibly be wrong on opinion.crash wrote:I bet 90% of what you said in your posts in this thread in incorrect, who's got a sniff eh?
