Here is a better question: How does Rochester support 4 high school programs with 1 Bantam A team?

I was on their website and it looks like they have 2 "A" teams this year.

The second A team is a joke, unfortunately Rochester is not able to produce 2 solid, competitive A teams year after year. The A1 A2 system is worse for the highschools than the former North/South system. At least when they had the North/South system some of the kids playing together would be going to the same highschools. The A2 team is basically B1 talent playing up at the A level. With 1 A team and 2 competitive B teams last year, Rochester had one of the best years in a while at the Bantam level. Last year was a success for the association, but then again, 1 A team is worse for the highschools than 2. It's a tough situation here.

Big Town.... Little talent. Checkout the Demographics and they will tell why Rochester can only field one good team at any level.....Immigration!!!

it seems like the towns with only one team for each level cant compete but i know a couple towns that might actually do something this year. I was up at that Richfield tournament and i watched a lot of the games their. Armstrong didnt seem to be much of a threat except against washburn who had no chance to begin with. Burnsville looked pretty good throughout the whole tournament and eden looked okay except for that embarrassing loss to Burnsville in the chipper. 10-1 burnsville...ouch. Cottage Grove needs to cut back on penalties! The kids are out of control and hurt their team with the lack of self-control. Disappointing to see from an outfit like that. Then their is Richfield who played pretty good throughout the entire tournament. Played a good 3-2 loss against EP but EP wasnt expecting that. And they beat Cottage Grove for a 3rd place spot. Burnsville with 1st place. I never really got to see stillwater play much. But STA beat washburn 10-0 or so in their 2nd game. But as for the small associations...washburn is small but needs development and richfield is small, still needs improvement but actually competed with an outfit like EP! surprising...

I haven't seen the 1 team but I saw the 2 team the other day. They didn't have jack squat as far as speed goes but they passed the puck well and both of their goalies impressed me.
