Oct 19-20: Minnesota-Duluth vs. St. Cloud State

I figured that we could let this game have its own thread rather than the predictions under last weekends game.
Should be a fun-filled weekend at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center as the St. Cloud State University Huskies will make the trek over Hwy 23 and up I-35 to Duluth to face off against the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs. This weekend will be the first WCHA games of the year for both squads and both teams are boasting a 1-0-1 record entering the weekend.
Last Weekend:
Minnesota-Duluth
- Friday: tied Lake Superior State 2 to 2
- Saturday: defeated Northern Michigan 4 to 0
St. Cloud State
- Friday: defeated Canisius 7 to 0
- Saturday: tied Canisius 3 to 3
Thoughts or predictions on this weekend's WCHA match-up at the DECC?

I think the Dogs will be split. Probably not great...but not good....i'd have to disagree.
And its just the third game of the year

A split.
And some of the ugliest fans known to college hockey make Drunk Hockey Guy puke

That is, if he makes the trip up north this weekend. The Penalty Box needs his direction.
Hey! I see JBSU has two boys from Moorhead on their squad this year. That could make for some interesting yelling down at their bench this weekend.

In this one I think Minnesota-Duluth will surprise some people in the WCHA and will play tough on their home ice. They have may not have any real standout players this season, but the team first attitude and the amount of heart showed a little bit last weekend will carry this team to a sweep of St. Cloud. They will be two very close contests with Stalock having to make some saves in big spots to keep the Bulldogs in the lead. I think the Huskies lack of experience between the pipes will hurt them early in the season.
Here's hoping for a hostile environment at the DECC this weekend too making it really uncomfortable for the St. Cloud players.

St. Cloud looked horrible tonight.. Shaky goaltending, poor PP, pretty much a poor showing all around
St.Cloud power play

SCSU might have the worst power play in college hockey since midway through last season. You have players with big shots on the point and not many attempts taken!

They may have big shots. But, one thing St. Cloud seems to miss on is the talented puck moving defensemen. A college team will have a difficult time running a solid power play without those types of players.
Put a forward back there? Great way for the other team to score shorthanded goals.

LeBlanc was a Junior at Hermantown last season when he committed to St. Cloud. He will likely play a season this (his Senior season) with Chicago of the USHL.

Dogs get the sweep tonight 4-2!
And does Motzko always chirp and whine at the refs like this?? Geez, I thought we were playing Mankato and I was listening to Troy Jutting after the first period

If I was a St. Cloud Fan, I would of been embarrassed by the coaching staff and the constant crying to the refs,
