Love it!
And I wish the Bison were there, gotta love beating Buffalo.
And anybody can call me an idiot because I am not sure what some of these teams are bringing back, just thought I would see if we can get some preseason info and excitement.

8AA

I don't see any push overs in 8AA. Most of the teams were young last year and should only be better.
I wish Buffalo was still in 8AA....this is the Bison's year, I'm not sure they will do as well in 6AA. They didn't lose anyone from either of their first two lines....

The Buffalo Bisons will have to compete against top rated teams BSM, North Metro and Wayzata in 6AA...not to mention Hopkins who beat them last year handily and lost no one. The section change did not do the Bisons any favors.

You are correct. Since BSM seems to get the top rating I suspect they are best. Wayzata we can play with but I fear Hopkins the most. My daughter has played with and against most of the Hopkins girls and they certainly are a solid team...and as you said, they've lost no one.
The Bison would much rather be in 8AA!!!

Elk River didn't look all that good at scrimmages this weekend. Except for maybe two players and some size. Their top line center looked very impressive, speed, size, strong on the puck. Bemidji looked better overall.

And Bemidji's top line did not play.

I was told Erickson would not be back in town.
And that Christofferson was injured and would not play.
The third player - I do not remember.

Erickson did not play I was told she was in New York or something.
Christofferson played with mostly JV players most of the weekend.
Third forward hasnot been decided yet according to coaches.

i know bemidji and elk river were skating split squads half jv and half varsity. so both teams probably didn't look as great as they could.

Looks like Brainerd is getting some love. Opening night (Nov. 13) finds Brainerd @ Bemidji. 7:30 at Nymore Gardens.

You're right.
In this type of event it is difficult to guage the 'team'.
Looking at individual performance and extrapilating is more difficult. Also, you do not usually know if individuals are sittin git out.
But, it give the rest of us something to talk about.

Was curious so here is part of what the St. Cloud times said:
BEMIDJI — Senior Andrea Dean scored both goals for the Icebreakers (8-5-2) in the first period, and freshman goalie Jenna Traut made 33 saves on 34 shots to upset the Lumberjacks at Nymore Arena. Traut’s play helped the Icebreakers secure victory despite putting only 11 shots on Jacks' netminder, Katrina Smith.
Congrats to the Icebreakers and their goalie!

looks like the bemidji has moorhead and tech here in the next couple games. a sweep would boost morale quite a bit.

Wow... Alex fans aren't cocky at all in their statements about St. Cloud teams... How about this one then: How in the world did St. Cloud Tech tie Alexandria?

Bemidji's Sara Erickson will not be back until sometime after the 12th of January.
That will help.
It won't make them as powerful as GRG, but will help their section 8AA quest.
