I'm looking for everybody's favorite movies that fit into one of a couple of criteria...

#1 - Cheesy. You know it sucks, but for some reason you have to watch it every time you can can.

#2 - Women & children. This is probably either your wife's or kids' favorite movie that the dudes would probably give you the most crap about.


So here are a few of mine:

Judgment Night - the reason I'm posting this (it's on tv and made me think of it). Dennis Leary running the south side of Chicago and bothering to chase the likes of Emilio Estevez, Cuba Gooding and Jeremy Piven? Don't think so. Awful acting too.... I never miss it. I'm passing on MNF as we speak to watch this turd.

Toy Story - one of my favorite movies ever. Great story.

Ghost - This one fits into both categories in a big way, but for some reason I have to watch every time it's on cable.

You better watch for that Old Milwaukee falling beer can when you walk out of the house!

Kid's movies because they bring back great memories - Though Toy Story was solid choice.........Little Mermaid because it was my daughter's very first movie and being the first born she had her daddy wrapped around her finger and we saw it 3 times that day. Lion King was my youngest son's first movie .....although he now likes the classics like Animal House, Slap Shot, Blazing Saddles.

In regard to movies that I just have to watch if I see them on TV
The Godfather series (especially the first two) Pulp Fiction,


so would "Deep Throat" count as a cheesy movie because it sucks if you know what I mean

Rocky - pick any one of them, and if it's on, I'll watch it.
Finding Nemo - Classic, could watch it a hundred more times.
The Story of Us - Don't tell my wife, but Bruce Willis is great in this one.

Forrest Gump: After watching the movie more than once or twice you can amaze your friends when you go to a Bubba Gump Shrimp Factory for dinner and when the waiter asks your table the obscure questions you can instantly blurt the answers out. Like:

What kind of liquor did Lt. Dan send Forrest out for when he was out of booze?

How many boats did Forrest have in his fleet named Jenny?

What kind of a party did Forrest and Jenny attend when they spent the night in their nation's capital?

What kind of material was Lt. Dan's "Magic Legs" made out of?

What was Forrest's favorite book?

What kind of mower did Forrest use to cut the grass at the local football field and how much did they pay him?

What number did Forrest wear at Alabama?

What magazine did Jenny appear in with her college sweater?

Who did Forrest say he had more money than?

What did Forrest tell Jenny he did to win his Medal of Honor?

Gump is a great movie, top 5 all time , but it doesnt qualify.

Ill confess to: "An Officer and a Gentlemen" in the chick flick category(yeah, I know)

Toy Story was a great movie. So were Lion King and Little Mermaid.

But the best is Beauty and the Beast.

hey no guilt here, I would second this one - saw this one with my wife just before heading off to officer training school. has a special place in my heart and soul. Thanks for the reminder

Chick Flicks...Steel Magnolia's , Fried Green Tomatoes , Pretty Woman and Beaches.

One of the cheesiest movies of all time Flash Gordon with the Queen sound track. I watch it every time though.

I'd agree with "Ghost" and "Officer & a Gent." for the Chick movies, although having to watch them.....it's about the same to me as a root canal. "Grease" and "Dirty Dancing" nice and Cheesy!!!!!!!!

Kids movies IDK "Alladdin" and "Finding Nemo" and because my kids were hockey players they liked the Mighty Ducks and that also fits the Cheesy criteria.

Chick - "Serendipity"

Kids movie - all the scoopy-doo movies (both of them).

Right about the time the first one came out, I actually saw one of those at the Let's Play Hockey Expo at the Civic Center, and I damn near bought it.

Opted for a Stiga Table Hockey game instead. Best purchase I ever made.

Chick Flick- "Match Point" (Actually a pretty decent movie)

My parents got us one for Christmas right around this general timeframe ... our set had all of the Original Six. Then came the '70's and we decided some "modernization" was necessary ... bent the metal to form big curves and such. My brother took a magic marker and put long hair, side burns and a handle-bar mustache on one of the Boston players -- we needed a Derek Sanderson.
