Senior defensmen Jon Pernu is ready for his breakout year. He has been training hard all summer and is stepping up to the challange of helping lead a young Golden Bear team with the help from Marco Leoni and Chris Florey. Look out for this group of hard working seniors.

I guess it's easy to be underrated when you score a grand total of 0 goals on the season - that's the combined total of the three players you named (according to Section7Hockey.com).

I know Terry Pernu that played for Eveleth in the early 80's was a very good hockey player, small, but scrappy.

after reviewing the point results of last season i find it hard to believe Jacob Cogger isn't leading this team..? his points average out more than all of the 3 mentioned as capts for the Eveleth hockey program? does anyone disagree? it just doesnt make sense?

First off I have to say he isn't a brutal player at all. I have had a chance to watch him play a number of times. I will say he isn't the stand out offensive rush the puck end to end defenseman. He doesn't seem to concerned about his point total. He is a very solid stay at home very defensive defenseman. It seems that he likes the very physical style of play and isn't afraid to mix it up. Almost seems like he plays with a chip on his shoulder and is capable of laying the big hits every game.

there is no doubt that cogger is the most skilled player on the team there are some rumors out there that he has a bad attitude and not a team player. but he is there the best player for sure
