Here at Como we have enough Pee Wee players to have 3 teams. The problem is talent wise there may be 5 legitimate "A" Pee Wee's. So do we have one "A" Pee Wee team, one "B" Pee Wee team and a "C" Pee Wee team, Or do we have 2 "B" Pee Wee teams and a "C" and let the kids that are "A" caliber go to a program that has "A"'s?

If you have enough for 3 teams, then why wouldn't you have an A team? Most people in the outstate that have that many kids have A teams. And truly most of them have 4 or 5 "A" caliber players.

Will it be tough to compete in the metro? It could. It can be done, and it is supposed to be about developing kids , right?

I would always prefer to play UP a level rather than play down. Therefore, I would rather have an A team and then B teams. I can't understand why people would rather play 'down' a level. Challenge yourselves...if you lose, that's fine. If you win, you've pushed yourselves to be better!!

Play where they can compete. If you get kicked for 30 games everyone will be totally pissed off at the end of a season. IF they can't win 40% of their games send them down to the B level and put them in the tougher tourneys for more challenge.

i think in district 1, if you have that many "A" quality players you need to put an "A" team out there. outstate too 5 is enough to put an "A" team on the ice.

This is a no brainer. The 5 kids that can compete will be the 5 kids that you can count on to transfer to another school or hockey district if they aren't at least given the opportunity to play A level hockey. It helps move along the development of the other 10 kids on that team, too.

Small to medium sized outstate programs that have 5 legitimate A level players consider themselves lucky. A lot of them struggle to get enough kids for one team, much less three. The strength of the program when it reaches the higher levels (e.g. High School) is only going to be better off for it.

This is a classic example of why MN Hockey should look at implementing a AA and A level distinction this year. Teams like Edina, Wayzata would have a AA and an A team and the second 15 in EP (A) would play the como top 13-15 or the Kennedy top 15? It has been talked about in the past and I hope it's brought to the table again.

Why doesn't Como co-op with another organization that has 5 real A players and have try outs and together sponsor one A team? That way you would be keeping kids at the competitive level they need to be at.
Girls hockey has been doing a lot of this to make the program stronger.

If it's the politics that keeps this from happening, I guess you really don't have the kids' best interest at heart. If you don't do this, you will lose
those 5 kids anyway to a better program sooner or later that will offer them what they need.

I hope Como has an "A" Pee Wee team this season. In talking with their president things seem positive. If for some reason they do not have an "A" team we would be open to talking with them about anything we could do to help.

A kids need to play A. They should co-op an a team, and let the kids wear patches on their shoulder showing what association they are from. Everybody wins.

i think do an A team i am in the same jam but my assoaction only has like 3 or 4 kids who could play bantam A's i would like to play up for the experience so i am more prepaired for h.s but my coach says that it will be better for our h.s and town that we have one good solid B team instead of a garbage A team and he is a guy that i trust so i think that this is the best for our proublem but then again we only have 15 kids trying out so... in your position i would go and try to play peewee A's

like southernfool says you got to challenge yourself cause what the fun in winning if you dont have to try

Play with an A team and have 13 skaters on it. This will help alot. Many smaller associations have gone to this. It works...2 pair of D and 3 lines...you'll be OK.
