Slowey seems to like giving up the longball... Enter the "Big (Twins) Hurt". Uh-oh. Fortunately, most are solo shots, let's hope that trend continues.
Twins will take 3 out of 4, with Slowey taking his first loss tonight.

The wind must be blowing out in the dome tonight because Slowey can't keep them in the park.

Me thinks if your pinch hitter in the bottom of the 9th is hitting .177- your season may be on thin ice.
We definitely need another bat or two.

This could be a frustrating four days of baseball for the Twins. Toronto is that power hitting team that the Twins don't matchup with. Today, tomorrow and thursday, if you decide to watch, you will be holding your breath with each pitch because hitters 1-5 can all go deep. In addition, two of those guys (Rios & Thomas) love to hit in the dome.
The Twins can only hold water in this series if the pitchers keep the ball on the property.

Now that Slowey's start is out of the way the Twins can go to work.
Baker with four straight K's.

Baker has 9 K's after 5 innings. Where did this come from?

Just like the local TV sports guy used to say about Hrbek.
"He runs well for a big man"

That felt like a playoff game.
Cirillo with the seeing eye, lazy, fly ball to win the game.
Great outing for Baker and the Bullpen was outstanding.
When's Morneau going to be back, this lineup is super soft again.

When did we pick up this Baker kid, he pitched a great game. Shanty, did you write something about the Twins not matching up against Toronto? You might want to edit that before someone gives you grief about it. Oops, too late.
I didn't hear or see the game last night but when I got off work at 11 I listened to Gardy talk about getting kicked out of the game, it was funny. He said he went out there because he couldn't afford to have Hunter booted and basically wanted to get the heat off of Hunter who was arguing a call at home plate. He took off his hat because he didn't want to accidentally 'beak' the umpire, the ump told him to put his hat back on, Gardy asked 'Why?' and that was it.
Nice win, the Twins pick up a game on the Indians and Tigers and are now 5.5 out.

I'm not going to edit that ChrisK, I'll edit an image or inconsiderate txet ocne in a whlie but incorecrt prdeictoins or obsrvaetnios wlil be tehre unitl the broad cesaes to exsit. Just because the Twins don't matchup doesn't mean they can't beat them.
Two games left, if the pitchers
keep the ball on the property they have a chance to stretch that currently narrow gap between the win and loss column.

When all you can do is hit is a single, it doesn't matter if you're up 3 or down 3 early because after nine innings you're going to lose to a team that has six guys who can go deep.
Hang some zeros Carlos, the day isn't lost yet.

Good Lord, someone hit it out or hit a gap and go get the darn lead already!

It was huge for Carlos to hang that zero in the top of the sixth, including striking out Frank.
