Regional tournaments --How much money did the locals make

With the new format of regionals, more games = more expenses, ice time, officials etc, and still only eight entry fees , how did the associations do financially, seems to me with all the restrictions Mn Hockey puts on the locals I wonder how they can afford to host these. My question is why doesnt Mn Hockey put some money into this as this is their SHOWCASE, if the locals cannot afford it then what happens????????
