A Big Nine All Conference game is being set up. It should be alot of fun.
Mankato West, Albert Lea, Owatonna, Faribault, And JM need to respond to John Gamble ( Mayo Coach). All the Coaches were notified but the above have not responded back. Please have your coaches respond. Thanks

You know - here's another idea - to have an all-conf. team tourney.... Meaning all the all-tourney teams play each other some weekend. I suppose though that that's too much like Sr Fest already as many of those AC kids are Upper Classmen anyway...

I hope Grinch recovers quickly.
Wow, I am amazed at all of the followers of this forum. I am getting several emails. John Gamble is doing all of the organizing. It is important for your high school coaches to contact him. His email is on this web
http://www.mshsl.org/mshsl/schoolactpag ... school=378 I don't know what the date is yet. I would imagine it is in June or July so that the High School coaches could be involved. I believe he has split up the conference in half and has each half playing each other. My wife finds this game very interesting and has offered her help, as we all know, how she enjoys putting together tournaments and is a hockey fanatic. It would be fun to see all of you again.
I do like the All-conf. team tourney idea. That really could be fun.

Jet,
I believe the AL coaches have a new e-mail address. You may want/have to contact the ALHS AD to get in touch with the Falks.

It sounds like a great idea, and I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but this game might go against MSHSL rules. Any underclassmen (women) who participated would be jeopardizing their eligibility for next year. The league has a regulation against "all-star teams." And any seniors who played might face possible ineligibility in a spring sport
I have read about other similar games planned and then cancelled in other sports because of MSHSL rules.
There might be some ways around it, but the organizers better check all the regulations before they go ahead with it.

What is the reference for the regulations you are referring to? Thanks

I looked in MSHSL web site and can't find any reference to its all-star rules. I know that they were there just a few years ago. I don't know if they are still there, but I would suggest checking with an AD or directly with the MSHSL to find out.

Just checked with MSHSL. There's no violation with this kind of game. Should be okay.

Then they must have changed the rules, which is great. Like I said, I know there used to be a lot of restrictions on so-called "All-star" teams just a few years ago. Hope this game turns out great. It would be neat to see other conferences do something similar not just in hockey but in other sports as well.
