What is better to have on a top line or power play line? a line stacked with skill or line with maybe not as much skill but a lot more chemistry?

It would be skill or history (social studies).
That way your guys would know that you have to have one guy like Gordie Howe who would hit you all over the ice, hammer you in the glass and bury one on the scoreboard, another guy like Gretzky - not very big, fast, or strong, but sees the ice well and makes better passes than everybody else, and a guy like Brett Hull who can just circle the slot like a shark waiting for the great feeds from his line-mates.
It would help on the PP as well - Howe hammers in the corner gives it to Gretzky on the wall, works with the D until the guy gets out of position and then hits Hull with the seam pass on the backdoor.
So the true answer is skill AND history - know who you follow and try to carry the torch for the next generation.
