This year's Cinderella

Who is going to be this year's cinderella?
My pick is lakeville South. They have an amazing goalie in Yumaslaker and play in a weaker section this year. If a Yumaslaker gets hot, i would watch out.

All the teams you listed have very good goaltending, good strategy.

Nothing like a hot goaltender to create an upset.

I also think I-Falls could be a cinderella this year, Hjelle is the kind of goalie that can carry a team.

I could not vote...well maybe Richfield. That is a huge if though.
However, Lakeville South does not have enough offense to ride Hakan to St. Paul. That, and he is tired and not on top of his game.
I-Falls might do it, but they have a very tough road.
Wayzata - I am not sure about them....not the strongest section, but I don't think Blaine will be touched.
My choice is a homer pick with merit. Rochester Mayo. Donohue is hot again. Matt Alexander is in top form. Thauwald seems to be working harder in both ends. They get Sackett back and despite giving up shots, their defense has improved - keeping it to the outside, playing more physical etc. With that said, they are still a long-shot.....but then again, if it is tough to be a team 3 times, is it even tougher to beat a team 4 times?

SEhockeynut-
I love the way you think man. Mayo has a great shot at being this years cinderella but they gota get the puck past Hakan. I'm going out on a limb here and choosing Farmington as my Cinderella.. they have more upside than people think..
and losing 6 of their last 7.. yeah the most was by 3 not including the Holy Angels game.. a couple of blown leads, and last minute goals. Their not playing bad hockey right now. Come to Ames tomorrow night, it will be a hell of a game

I agree with you, Yumsuaklar is great, and was phenomenal against Eastview the last i saw him. (5 GA, 4 were tipped)...stopped 3-4 breakaways and numerous 3 on 2s, but seeing 35+ shots a game, and playing every minute of every game is taking its toll Im sure. I don tknow if he can maintain it.
Mayo has good goaltending, and LV South is just terrible in their own end as displayed against EV, and dont think they have the firepower to beat Mayo again.
This going off seeing South maybe 7 times this year, and Mayo 1.

Too many people think I falls is going to be a cinderella. I am willing to bet they lose to Hermantown now. Its never who a group of people expect.
Red Wing over Lourdes and STA and or Minnetonka over Chaska, Edina, and Benilde St. Margarets.

A four seed is a cinderella story.
But Minnetonka is a fairy tale.

You are right. I didn't think before I spoke. So what would Red Wing be?

What seed is Red Wing?
No matter, if they can get by Lourdes and STA, they desrve a Strib write-up.
Or better, a Grnad Forks Herald write-up.

Cinderella huh...Could Sauk Rapids be that team?

How about Alexandria?

How about section 4AA as a whole

(Rogers, Champlin Park, Armstrong, Wayzata, Maple Grove, Osseo, Anoka, Coon Rapids) Any of those teams could be dancing.

After watching Donohue tonight, I will stick with my prediction!

Well Lakeville South lost tonight so you can forget that idea. Richfield barely got past Northfield in OT and I'Falls has to faceoff with the number one team in the state for class A on Saturday. Not looking all that good for these cinderellas.

Hard to say really...

who is missing a glass slipper

Not so sure its anyone of these teams listed though

Maybe the falls, but that's only if the goalie isn't doing the crappie flop
