In this 1AA Quarterfinal, I am thinking...
Lakeville South - 2
Rochester Mayo - 1

Mayo by at least 3 goals. They will completely dominate.

I think Mayo will in 4-2. I want to see South win, though.

Two very good goalies, two very bad offenses. Watch the paint dry, the snow melt, or Mayo vs. South? Mayo wins at home 2-1.

Goldy - I assume you will be at the Rec Center then eh?
I think this will be the best game in Rochester Thursday night.
With Sackett back Mayo brings two good lines...nothing superb, but Sackett, Thauwald and the two Alexander boys can move, hit, and bury the puck. Hurley is fast and works hard.
I fully expect Mayo will outshoot South something like 30-18 but Hakan will keep it somewhat close.
Mayo 3 (en)
South 1

SEMinnHockeyNut is Waaaaaaaay off on this one. Mayo will put in at least six goals on the South goalie. Thauwald will have two, the alexanders will have 3 between them and who knows who else will tickle the twine. The South tender is way overrated, and he will be exposed tonight.
Mayo Lakeville South should be a great game

I can only watch the first period of this one as I want to watch the 2nd and 3rd of the JM Owatonna game...
I think that it will depend on which of the two very good goaltenders is at his best. I know either one of em can be really good if they both are it could last a long time. Someone call me if it is 0-0 and overtime I will head back to graham....
I plan to watch the lourdes simley game in it's entirety.
If someone can call me and let me know how the DC Century game is going it woud be great.

Mayo will Rock! I am predicting a huge win for my alma mater. Oh, too bad the players can't celebrate at the glass anymore, I was the king of the glass celebration. I would live to be playing now too, the glass is way shinier, all the better to see myself in the reflection.

Esimated shots - very hard to hear in there
Lakeville South 35-40
Mayo about 25.
PPs were probably 8-2 for Lakeville South. Lets just say the officiating was inconsistent and guys I never see down here. South clutched, grabbed, held, tackled (literally) and hooked the entire night. Penalties were probably like 8 for Mayo and 3 for South. Honestly should have been like 15 for South and about 12 for Mayo.
I think every South goal was on the PP.
6-4 for Mayo with an en goal, so Yumuslaker only had 20 saves. He let in a few softies (especially the first two), but made some unreal saves - insanely unreal! Donohue was excellent as well...probably would considered the 2nd one as soft. One was middle of the box one-timer on the PP....another was tipped.
Both teams worked hard and I was impressed with South and they have a young team. If their goalie stays they could be a great threat next year.
Mayo played well but had a few breakdowns in their own end.
